Comfortable and effective radio headset.
I have been using this Protear sound-supressing AM/FM radio headset now for about a month. The headset is full-sized, familiar to this user of sound supressors in the past. While I have not yet used it on the pistol range, I normally use it at home to listen to AM or FM broadcasts without disturbing my wife. It accompanies me on my COVID19 influenced walks along the Rio Grande Bosque, in the nearby mountain's foot-hills, or in my neighborhood. A word of caution, I had not given thought to the need for normal hearing while listening with this radio: While walking along favourite river-side multi-use paths, I do not hear the spoken warnings of bicyclists coming up from behind. Of course, this is because the headset is doing just what it was designed for. So, be extra alert while walking where others may venture to tread. Because I also live and walk within sight of multiple radio transmission towers, there is some difficulty retaining the signal of my chosen broadcast station. Again, a matter of local geography, not of radio design. Battery use, using modern readily available rechargeable AA cell batteries is within acceptable limits. I tend to use Mallory rechargeables and keep a supply to hand for all household needs. This radio gives good battery life levels. It compares favourably with an older model by a different national maker. (I had misplaced mine, and of course found it within a week of receiving my order for the Protear, hence a true and recent comparison.) I would recommend this for the casual user.

Husband not happy with his birhday gift
The PROTEAR Digital AM FM Radio Headphones are absolutely the worst headphones I have ever had. They are very uncomfortable as they are very tight fitting and there is no adjustment. Trying to preset radio stations is very difficult and frustrating and after reading the instructions several times I still can't set them. The volume goes up and down depending on which way you turn your head; I have never had this happen with much cheaper headphones that I have had. And lastly, the batteries rapidly wear out even if you aren't using the headphones. DEFINITELY DON'T BUY THESE HEADPHONES!

Battery eater
This set of earphones eats AAA batteries at a pace of 3 per week. I used it via bluetooth for, I'd say, 10 hours, round-abouts, a week. The batteries I used were Rayovaks. I know those aren't the absolute TOP OF THE LINE, but, still, THREE A WEEK?! I can't imagine a higher end battery doing much better to justify the stock needed in the battery company in order to use these things. Another disappointment was the chincy, cheap look that met me when I first pulled them out of their box. Battery compartment was unmarked (common sense can figure it out, but still) and batteries fit kinda loose in their compartment. Some pluses... Cancelled noise REALLY WELL; Microphone sound was clear (according to those that I asked when I called them; however, with the ear muffs cancelling so much outside noise, you almost cannot hear your own voice on a call, probably the nature of the beast, but that was just my experience); Audio sound quality was good IMHO; Blue tooth range was decent (about 75 feet horizontally, 100 feet if my phone was upstairs, and I was working downstairs). I was pleasantly surprised about this, that I didn't have to keep moving my phone to where I was in the building. I could put it in a central location upstairs and leave it alone and hear pretty well what I was playing on my phone.

Intermittent issues
I thought a radio headset would be a no-brainer but I was wrong. The radio and headset worked the radio stopped many times, as well as the clock, reset itself. It was apparent that the batteries were not secured well. After fidgeting with the batteries I got them to stay connected for now. The battery compartment is too loose allowing the batteries to easily be jarred loose. I simply bent over to pick up something when the radio quit and the clock reset. I will live with this set as it was a birthday gift from the family. I would recommend checking out another brand. I think it would be better if the battery was built in and rechargeable as that would make it more secure and less prone to power issues. Radio, when it worked, is good. Hearing protection while mowing is good. I didn't sense any noise-canceling technology unless they meant it just covering the ears.

Good quality.
These headphones are an improvement over the ones I had been using that were purchased at a local big box store. A little difficult to operate at first. The instructions provided were printed too small to read with old eyes. The headphones receive my favorite local radio station well even though the broadcast station has a weak signal. Although they are more comfortable and have better padding than my old ones, they are still just a bit too tight when worn all day. They may loosen up a little with time/wear. I left these headphones hanging on the tractor in the hot sun the other day, and noticed that the digital readout disappeared. After taking them into the shop out of the hot sun, the digital readout gradually came back. The noise cancellation is very good. Overall, these headphones are much better than my previous ones and reasonably priced.

Poor design of battery compartment
While the sounds quality was fine, the battery compartment takes two batteries with a big space between them. Little movement while wearing them [for example, doing yardwork] causes the batteries to shift inside, breaking the connection and turning off the headphones. This would happen several times an hour, causing me to stop what I was doing, fix the batteries back into place, and wait for it to inevitably happen again. Poor design of battery compartment.

Good.. But flawed in basic design.
Good noise reduction. Good radio reception. Very comfortable, soft ear surrounds. The volume is good. We mow about 9 acres using two front deck mowers. It's a 3.5 hour job if both mow or a 6 hour for one person, so you get to spend a lot of time with your ear muffs. There do a good job keeping noise in check and are very comfortable. Like all this style of ear muffs with radio, It's only a matter of time till the plastic door that holds the batteries in place break the small plastic hinges and you have to tape the door closed.
