Absolutely works as a replacement
The main thing that's different is the wires on these are longer, which gives you more leeway to work with but also means you have to figure out how to tuck or otherwise move them out of the way of the fans. These worked perfectly to replace the fans on my 970 after it started making grinding noises, and with replacement cards going for what they are I was really hoping they'd fix it- and they did! Note: You should definitely have a set of small screwdrivers to open up the card casing and remove the fans.

It's a good fan
Fans on the Zotac 970 fail frequently. This fan works, fits well, and not too noisy. Price is fair, could order them from China for cheaper but who want's to deal with that. Thanks for the fast fix.

Ran for 450 days straight at full speed before failure
This fan's connector doesn't fit my graphics card, so I just soldered two of the wires together. The consequence is that it's always running at full speed. Never had any issue with noise, but I have a pretty quiet computer tower. I only needed to use one fan. It has finally started failing after 450 days since I installed it. I installed the other fan today (2024-10-26). Hopefully it lasts longer than the first one. For the price, I can't really complain.

The easiest solution for bad fans
This is the easiest solution for replacing fans on - you guessed it - a Zotac 970. Pro tip, if you to fix it while you wait, you might have luck if you pry the fan housing off the spindle, shoot a cleaning chemical into the spinny bits such as brake cleaner, carb cleaner, electrical contact cleaner, or mass air flow sensor cleaner, then relube with grease and reassemble. In my experience that's never a permanent fix, but the good news is that these fans are an exact fit with the exception of looping and tucking the excessively long wires. The only other alternative to these fans is to grab yourself dual 92mm fans with a fan splitter and zip tie the contraption to the heatsink and forgo the shroud. But by the time you buy the fans and the power splitter, they cost more than these replacements. In 2021 with GPU shortages, it's important to hold on to what we have. GTX 970 gaming in 2021 is back, baby!

It works
Cable was a bit longer than the stock 970 fan but it worked once I found a way to tuck it under my card's shroud. Now my GTX 970's dead fan is replaced and the card works as good as new.

These work fantastic
The stock fan are loud & will wear out quickly. These fans fit well with the Zotac GTX 970 & they are quiet. The cable is a bit longer than the original which is good & is not problem to tuck away easily. If you have one these graphic card I recommend you buy these replacement fans & store for when the original fans fail.
