Not Made to Be Flattering or Skinny Cut
These pants are not made to be flattering looking or fit like a pair of tight, skinny jeans. They are made for the active to extremely active lifestyle and careers of law enforcement, federal investigators, military and other jobs that require active wear. They're like BDUs that are full cut for active military careers and life styes. These pants are made for climbing, squatting, bending, reaching, stooping, high crawling, low crawling, running, jogging, hiking, repelling, weapons firing at various positions and any other physical contortion or position you can think of. Try doing those positions with tight fitting skinny pants. They are not made to look pretty on you. They are functional garments. Attempt to visit a store that sells these types of pants and try on several pairs before you reach a conclusion if they are for you or not. They are tactical pants, not cargo pants from the 70s and 80s disco crowd. I have been wearing these types of pants for over a decade with absolutely no problems utilizing them for their intended purpose. The Brand, 5.11 Tactical Taclite Pro Pants are the best out there.

Best pants I own.
I recently purchased a pair of 5.11 Tactical Men's Taclite Pro Lightweight Performance Pants, and I am very pleased with my purchase. They are lightweight and comfortable, yet still provide a great fit and mobility. The material is tough and durable and the pockets are well designed and plenty of room. The pants also look great and are well suited for any outdoor activity. Overall, I highly recommend these pants to anyone looking for a lightweight, comfortable, and functional pair of pants.

Happy Hubby!
Bought this for my husband and it fit well! He says it’s comfortable and seems well-made. Lots of pockets and made with durable fabric. We also got a tactical belt with it.

Awesome choice for the careful professional
These are great trousers. But kneel anywhere and you'll show that place on your knees for a while. I work in the Emergency Medical field and wearing these allow for greater mobility and access than other pants I've worn. But where professionalism is key, these are a lock. It takes one who can regularly clean them to get even the slightest scuff out of them. While I recommend them to colleagues, I think they need more attention than other brands with regards to keeping them tidy. They have held up well for the purposes of my job and I think they will for years to come. Any bit of dust, grime, or waste will stay for the same time though!

Excellent Everyday wear
I've worn 5.11 Tactical pants for years. I need all the pockets they have, and it's pretty much all I wear to work.

Better than I thought...
...they would be. At this price, I got a couple of them at the recommendation of a friend. Thus far it appears to be a good deal, I can't attest to the durability or stain resistance my having only worn them twice, but they seem to meet basic standards of the material from which they are made.To the specifics: I have a 36" inseam, and a 36" waist and usually order a 1/2 size larger all around to account for shrinkage and the size differences in patterns from which things are made. Most times I am satisfied even with imported clothes, but I have found vanity sizing is a regular thing in that segment of clothing and after a wash and dry, many items are not even close to the packaged size, so I expected that here. Didn't happen.Pre-wash, I measured the 36x36 waist as 17.25" flat across and relaxed, then 19.25" flat across stretched fully. Post-wash and normal dry (not recommended by manufacturer) the same pair measured 17" even across relaxed, 19"even across stretched fully. The inseam, center of gusset to end of inseam pre-wash measured 36" even. Post-wash and dry the measurement was 35.5". Acceptable for fabric not pre-washed before assembly IMHO, especially for a partial cotton fabric. The seams do pucker and the cuffs do change shape, there are still wrinkles from being packaged that will eventually wash out in my experience with cotton/poly fabric. They do dry relatively wrinkle free assuming they get onto a hanger quickly out of the dryer. The ripstop fabric is about what I would expect, in that it has a faint check due to the slightly heavier thread that theoretically stops the tear, but in severe service I don't see these pants doing well for long. The seat and knees are doubled, thus a little stiffer, and less permeable. That could be a problem in high heat and humidity environments like where I live. The Teflon coating may also be a problem in that environment as the fabric may not allow perspiration to evaporate leading to some degree of stickiness, but I imagine the Teflon will wash out at some point. There is enough cotton in the fabric to provide some comfort, and in my experience cotton/poly blends get more comfortable as they are washed. The pant legs have slits inside the cuff to add elastic cord, not included, the cargo pockets are flat sewn and high enough on the leg to not get out of sync with running nor baggy to cause a snag, and are pleated to expand if necessary. Velcro closures doubled and crossed. The phone pocket is a perfect fit for an iPhone 7 standard, and the left front utility pocket seems made for a Leatherman Core, sheath on. Without the sheath, I see the Leatherman abrading its way out of that pocket. Both utility pockets are set high enough they won't interfere with motion. The carabiner strap above the slash cut rear patch pockets is secure though anything else attached there should be light and have a secure mechanism. If kayaking, you should NEVER have anything attached directly to you that does not float. The doubled knees have an opening for light knee pads. There is more, but suffice it to say for the price I am impressed. I have not taken these pants into the wild yet, but I do kayak, hike and climb (a little) so I'll know more later. For now, in my own experience, these pants are as much a muti-tool as anything you might need out there. They look pretty good too. You won't look like a fashion throwback to the '80's with a rucksack sewn to each leg.Update: I have taken these pants into the field. I spent 10 days in the Never Summer range, camping, hiking, photographing, ATV-ing, fishing , cheating the bears out of wild raspberries and following the footsteps of silver miners gone 100 years ago. These pants are the real deal. I fell down a rockslide picking berries for lunch, I was banged up a little, but the pants were not so much as scuffed. Lesser pants would have torn at both knees and the butt. I stepped too close to the edge of the Michigan River, the bank crumbled and I went in knees-first. No damage, my knife still clipped into slash pocket, and aside from the sandy mud and weeds, an hour later I was warm and dry. I am about to order 2 more pair.

Gray Tactical Pants
Ordered Grey pants and these appear off Grey. Pants are great fitting but the belt loops are a little smaller. Otherwise a good buy. Great material.

Great pants!
These are great. Even better when on sale. The material is stiff when new. I love the pockets!!

Very comfortable, practical and hard wearing trousers - still good after 7 years
I've just bought my second pair of Taclite Pro trousers, this review will focus however on the 1st pair I bought about 7 years ago, as far as I can tell the new trousers are essentially the same construction and design as the old ones. The first pair I bought are one of the two most comfortable pairs of trousers I own (the other being the similar but heavier 5.11 Tactical Pants), to the point that they're my preferred choice if I ever get the chance of a day of slobbing around the house. After 7 years there is a little visible wear, mainly fraying around the back of the ankles and as you'd expect for something that's had well over 100 washes they are now dark grey rather than black. The beltloops and pockets are all still intact too.

Excellent trousers!
I purchased three pairs of these 15 months ago, and have worn them in 'wear and wash' rotation every single day since. They are extremely comfortable, they wash well and are very tough. They are made to last. My one slight issue is that the pocket lining material isn't as tough as the rest of the trousers and carrying keys or loose change will wear them out after some time. Other than that, they are perfect. I will definitely be getting more.

but am disappointed by the cut
I'm convinced by the material, but am disappointed by the cut. I didn't expect them to be flattering and snug (I want practicality), but they are extremely baggy around the crutch and upper legs - while the waist measurement and the leg length are good/as described. A shame because this does not come across in the marketing images or other descriptions. That said, I am fairly confident they will be good in the field, allowing freedom of movement and as I said the material appears very good.

Extremely reliable
My ONLY negative point about these pants is more of a personal problem that I have with all pants. I have short but big legs, so around the thigh and rear area, pants are always tight on me. I did expect them to provide a bit more room in that regard, but maybe my huge butt is the problem, not the pants.Other than that, the quality is amazing. I've owned a lot of tactical clothing over the years and the material feels absolutely solid. I put them to the test every single day and they're showing no signs of failing on me, even with my demanding junk in the trunk. So for the price, I can't imagine you'd be disappointed.

Solid trousers, extremely tough, well fitting and utilitarian
Brought for work extremely good piece of kit, ripstop material that has a teflon water resistant coating, parts of the waist are elasticated and lots of useful pockets (especially if you work in factory's/warehouses and those kind of jobs) they're also very good fitting and quite cool, probably would be good for a hike in them too.
