Exactly the size I was looking for, feels pretty solid

Its small, kind of like those pencil box things you may have carried in school. Speaking of which, this would be a great holder for your kid's pencils but probably a bit expensive for that. I use it t keep my computer cables and such in one place and keep it in my computer bag. NIce material, holds it's shape, durable and Maxpedition uses 1000 denier with a water repellent that helps keep stains off. Quality is typical Maxpedition, great. I've never had a problem with any of their products. I do wish that they had a better color selection though that is not a big deal.Maxpedition Gear Cocoon Pouch, Black

I have these on the side of my Condor II and man, you can stuff a bunch of things in these little pouches. The list of items can go on and on so I wont even go there. As always, its Maxpedition quality, easily attaches with a 3 inch Tac Tie and your good to go. It only attaches with 1 tie so make sure the pouch will sit where you want it before ordering. If placing on the side, its going to attach in between the molly webbing stitching, not center.

I bought this specifically for carrying my glasses case. So I can easily carry and find my glasses or store them outside of my packs. Great construction from stitching to zipper! Only draw back so far is there isn't a strap or two on the back for belt attachment. There is a D ring and molle which is great for certain applications but I would like a version where instead of molle it had two, one and a half inch belt loops. Overall I recommend this product.

This works perfectly for my pens, small scissors, etc for my bugout bag.

This is one of my favorite Maxpedition products. It's just the perfect size and shape for so many applications. I have 5 of these and use them for all sorts of things. Great Max quality, MOLLE compatible, can be stuffed with just about anything and fits almost anywhere. Definitely get yourself one of these if you're putting together a kit, going camping or doing anything outdoors. It is actually the perfect size for an emergency survival kit that you can throw into just about any bag.

I bought the larger of the 2 Cocoon pouches by Maxpedition. I paid $18.14 for the black version.The craftsmanship and utility earn a 5/5. The cheap black "paracord" which came on my black pouch's zipper pull is utter trash. This black option of "paracord" is fake and starts fraying within days of use. That's surprising, coming from Maxpedition, but not a big deal. My guess is that the OD and coyote versions have a different cord. I would purchase this pouch again. I like modifying my pouches anyways.My modifications (see photos): OD zipper pull cord that's much thinner than 550 paracord, Nite-Ize mini S-biner on top loop, and OD cord on bottom loop. These additions help me hold the top or bottom while I open/close the zipper. Obviously, the S-biner is for easy attachment if needed.An ophthalmoscope/otoscope, if disassembled, will fit snugly in the cocoon. This includes the power handle with C-cell adapter ring. See photo for specific style of my ophthalmoscope.A dental care kit will fit as pictured, with room to spare for mouth wash, etc.A multitude of writing utensils, including sharpener, will fit easily.I imagine a fire-starting kit (cedar pencil+sharpener=dry shavings as tinder) will fit.

Well made Maxpedition pouch, like every other they make. Purchased to hold assorted small stuff, a pen, band-aids, chap stick, jeweler's loop, etc. Cocoon is very small; glad I got the 7" and not the 5". Tucks nice in an EDC sling.

As expected from Maxpedition, tought nylon material that can withstand abrasion. A little small in size, good for daily EDC items.

Like all Maxpedition products, this is overbuilt and will serve me well for years.
