I am new to the beard world. I tried this stuff on a whim after reading the reviews and comparing it to other products. I liked the idea of a leave in conditioner and Billy Jealousy delivered. Though kind of on the pricier side, the items I received came in a timely manner. the lids are flimsy on the small bottles but the brush was of a good well made brush. the bottles may have flimsy caps but the product itself was wonderful. Nice vanilla scent, not overbearing and lasted well throughout the day. SA far as actually making my beard softer...I can't really say as I wear my beard well groomed to about 1/2-3/4" andi have coarse whiskers in general. I have noticed my face doesn't itch nearly as much and when I lay down to bed, no annoying jabs. Also no oily residue left on my pillowcase.

Bought this for my Dad years ago…he looks like he’s the 4th member of ZZ Top. And he’s been using it ever sense. Bought it for my husband recently and he’s obsessed. Great product and present (set) for the bearded men in your life!

This item arrived very quickly, was packed very nicely in packing peanuts. I bought it as a gift for my Honey; he has quite the glorious man mane. Anyway, the shampoo smells great and it leaves his beard super silky. I love it; this is the first product we've found that really softens his beard hair. The beard control stuff is great too. He has tried oils and balms, and he likes those, but this will be great for our week long camping trips where he needs something with little oil in it to control his beard. Plus I think it'll make styling it viking style in braids and beads.This only got 4 out of 5 stars because the brush. It's not great. It's really not even good. I mean, I guess it does the job, but you can tell it's poorly made and mostly synthetic. I'm not exactly sure what etiquette is when it comes to beards and brushing and what is good and what isn't, but even I can tell this is a cheaply made brush. I plan on buying him a brush to replace it, no big deal though. The shampoo and beard control more than make up for it!Anyway, he’s pretty pleased with everything, brush excluded and pretty much agrees with all of the above. Will definitely be reordering this when he runs out (Or just the shampoo and control stuff if I can find just those two in a set together.

I received this item this past Saturday, 9/26/2015. I tried it for the first time on Sunday, 9/27, and OMG!!!!! It is FANTASTIC!!!! You only need to use a very small amount of the beard wash (maybe about a pea-sized portion) in the palm of your hand to lather up a bit before washing your beard. It smells great, it cleans the beard without drying it out, and it feels really good against the skin as it cleans the face underneath the beard. And the beard conditioner is great, too! Just a little bit rubbed into your palms before applying it to your beard is all you need. It moisturizes the beard and the face, and it smells nice and clean -- no overpowering (or even a hint of) artificial scent. It leaves my beard soft, smooth, and manageable. Best of all, it leaves my face and beard feeling clean without using the harsher soap that regular shampoos sometimes contain. I will be using this stuff for as long as a I have a beard, and considering how good I look with it (okay, so maybe I'm a little vain), I don't plan on shaving it off any time soon. The boar's hair brush is a little hard at first, but boar bristles are tough and just need a little time to soften with regular use.

Performs just like any other beard wash and conditioner in my opinion. Nothing noticeably different, however the smell is very pleasant. I was surprised at how small the bottles were when I received them, especially for the price tag on them. Fine product, just not the best bang for your buck.

Smells amazing. Definitely go with the clean scent. 👌🏾 so many compliments. It fades of course but u catch a wiff of it every now and then. Definitely a good purchase. And for $5 more you get the wash and comb. Great deal. Past me 2 months so far. You just need a little dab each time.

Purchased as a stocking stuffer for our son, who loved this gift and was brushing his beard all thru Christmas morning. Beards are in right now but the bushiness was starting to drive me a bit crazy, which is why I purchased this item in the first place. Our son says the beard wash has a nice scent and the beard control helps him keep it,...well, under better control. The boar's head bristle brush is a bit stiff, but with a coarse, thick beard, I think you need something with a little more stiffness. Our son did not complain at all about the quality or material of the brush and commented that "real men can handle it". LoL. So far the brush has held up to everyday use and has not fallen apart, according to our son, though he did add that he doesn't keep it on the sink top where it could get wet, which may be the reason why it fell apart for other reviewers? Makes sense. Overall, I am pleased with this purchase and would definitely buy Billy Jealousy products again!

Purchased this on a whim for my husband who has a very thick, long, and relatively straight beard. From a wife's point of view, I love it. The brush is great (kind of reminds me of a horse brush) but it works so well! Wind and the sea can leave his beard looking a little out of control, the combination of the shampoo and the beard control make it easy to tame. The best part? After using it for a while, his beard is softer- which is a bonus for me. Since buying this set, I've bought the full size products for him as well. The set is an easy and affordable way to see if it works for you (or who you're buying it for). My husband is super sensitive with smells and he hasn't complained about a strong residual scent, nor have I noticed one. He's also very simple in the sense that he doesn't typically use product other than shampoo and body wash. This doesn't extend his routine. The beard control and brush in the morning probably takes 2 min. I'd recommend the brush, he uses it every day.

Really pleasant scent and does the job perfectly

I've been growing a beard for a while and have to say I was skeptical about beard product. I have to say I am really impressed by this product. The beard wash leaves your beard nice and soft. The conditioner and brush keeps it tamed for the day

The beard wash works ok but I get the impression it's just normal soft type shampoo which is fine, just a bit pricey given the size .Main issue is with the beard control, the fragrance is quite strong and very old lady (can't think of a better description), similar to the wash get the feeling that they have just rebottled some random leave in conditioner. As a product marketed as "Rugged" and having a "woody scent", it really is more "Flowery" and "old lady musk".
