My Favorite Holster!
I bought this one for my S&W Shield Plus and I have one for my Ruger SR 9. I especially wanted them for when I’m riding my motorcycle. I know the holster isn’t going to fall off my waist and the pistol is secure in it. Very comfortable and very well designed and constructed!

Picked this up on top of a Belly Band for my Shield 9mm.I am really happy I bought this bad boy and paid a little extra for the one day shipping. (still cheaper than buying one locally due to how cheap they are on amazon from a 3rd party supplier.) I have never owned a blackhawk holster before despite wanting one for many years. I wish I would/could have joined the band wagon sooner. Considering I am coming from universal style pistol holsters. The nice features of these holsters is the options. First it comes with two different mounting options. The belt option when attaching to your belt and second is the paddle that goes in side your pants and hooks to your belt. The first options you will have to undo your belt to remove. The second you just angle it and it will come off. Now with these options you are able angle the weapon to your liking.I would recommend these to any one at this price. Perfect for open carry and or going to the range. If you wear a little baggier of a shirt you can conceal carry with no issues as well. I will say depending on the angle and position you carry your weapon, it could cause an issues while your are driving or sitting for very long periods of time. Because I roll with it at 4/5 O'clock and the grip down (15 Deg maybe?) I did notice it a bit more while sitting in some meta porch chairs. All in all I would still highly recommend. Shield fits like a glove as it should.

What I expect from a modern weapon system... and sexy.
Nice quality. Fast pull. The retention is excellent and I get kind of a warm fuzzy feeling the way it drops in and clicks in place. Retention release is just totally instinctive. Very little training required to draw without thinking about it at all. My hand just naturally slaps that button. It's a little bit bulky I guess, maybe there are similar holsters that would ride closer to my hip but also maybe that little bit of hold off from the body helps with a faster pull. Still, I wear it concealed when I have a longer jacket on no problem. It's covered when I wear a waist length jacket but I feel exposed when I bend over. I run it with the paddle and I enjoy how solid, secure and comfortable it rides. Clips on the paddle adjust to different belt widths and it is very secure and tight on the belt. Also a plastic hook thing keeps it stuck to your pants even if you don't have a belt on. Great retention to belt and pants but kind of have to wrestle with it to take it off. It does come with a belt attachment also. I like the adjustability with the screws and all the different positions I guess but probably that is a redundant feature. I run it straight up and down and have no need to change it ever. Also screws are required to change from paddle to belt so that is a fairly involved operation to switch over.

Great, secure OWB option for M&P Shield
On the positive side - fits the M&P Shield perfectly and holds the pistol firmly in place with a very positive and visible "snap." Extremely light weight, although this needs a strong waistband or belt to hold it securely. The distance between the belt attachment and the firearm causes the holster to pull down and away from my body, so if I'm not using a belt or tight waistband, it tends to lean outward. Release and pistol draw is easy by simply pressing the release button on the side of the holster. After some practice it becomes natural. No issue at all. I've read some reviews online that someone pulled the trigger on their firearm as they were unholstering their pistol, and they blamed that on the button release design here. Honestly I don't see how that was possible. That person had to be negligent or otherwise impaired to do something like that. I would give this 5 stars except...I wish there wasn't so much gap between the paddle and the holster. Wish it was a more snug fit, although I'm sure there are good reasons that is not the case by design. My only other complaint is when wearing the paddle, is definitely secures itself to your clothing and is difficult to remove. There's a little upward hook on the bottom of the paddle which makes sure it doesn't come out when you extract the firearm, but it also makes sure it doesn't come out when you want to extract the holster. Minor issue. Overall awesome product and I've bought a few for other firearms.

Everything I hoped for and more.
Bought this product thinking it was just a belt loop mounted holster system, which I wasn't thrilled about necessarily, but knowing that Blackhawk! is a quality brand, I figured I'd give it a try and see.Much to my surprise, this holster system not only has the belt loop system, but also the paddle system, which I preferred but didn't want to settle for a no-name brand. The fit is excellent. My S&W M&P shield 9mm fits in this like a glove, and being the father of a 3 yo boy, knowing that my CCW is not going to fall or jump out of my open carry holster is a great peace of mind. The holster comes with little 1/5 turn hook looking things that work as a belt grabber to ensure your holster doesn't bounce or get grabbed off of your hip from either hyper-activity play time or grabby hands. It is a little bit of a struggle getting the paddle holster on and off due to these belt clips, but personally I'm okay with that knowing that not only is my firearm not going to be lost, but neither is my holster.AND despite what other commenters said, when placing your finger on the release mechanism, your finger ends up just above the trigger housing as it would when practicing any common sense gun safety. No worry about accidentally landing your finger in the firing position when removing your weapon from the holster.
