Great overall design!
Much larger than expected. I was initially concerned that one filled with my plant, soil, and water, it would be too heavy for my bracket. I used a standard L bracket on a wall in my apartment and anchored screws. Nothing special but the plant is stable. The pot also comes with a small device to indicate the current water levels within. I wasn't sledging this but it's a great feature that has marks for max and min fill. I never have to guess or pick up the inner pot to check water levels. When I water my plant, there's a good sized hole beside the water level indicator. It doesn't detract from the appearance but is more than large enough to fill with a simple bottomless - no specialty watering can needed.I'm overall very happy with the pot and firmly recommend it.

Treats my plnat better than I do
I've been using this planter for around six weeks. We travel a lot and getting the plants watered is a problem. I was doubtful about the viability of the watering system, but the plants are thriving so far. I do think that some plants might not like the constant mildly moist soil, but you'll have to use your judgement about that. I also have a 30 inch tall planter by the same company and the plants in that pot are thriving as well. I'm planning to purchase more.

Algreen vs Lechuza Self Watering Pots. Both Good for Overwaterers
I have a lot of pots. Most of my pots are either Algreen or Lechuza because I like having a water reservoir. I am an overwaterer, at least I was until I started buying self-watering pots. It is still possible to overwater with a water reservoir, so I make sure that the top soil is dry before I fill the reservoir. I only have to water every 1 to 3 weeks with my self-watering pots. My fast growing herbs typically need watering once a week while my slower growing plants are okay for 2 to 3 weeks. Both brands are expensive but the time savings and aid with moisture control is worth it for me. I killed plants for years until I bought these pots.Algreen vs Lechuza:- Country of origin: Algreen pots are made in China, while Lechuza pots are made in Germany.- Pon: The Lechuza pots come with Pon (basically fancy gravel) that is supposed to make the self-watering system work better. I bought a large bag of Pon off Amazon that I use when I reuse a Lechuza pot or buy an Algreen pot.- Price: The Algreen pots are typically about $10 cheaper for the same size pot.- Quality: I have not noticed a difference. The water level indicator is almost identical and works just as well in both.- Style: The Lechuza pots tend to be better looking.Summary: I prefer my Lechuza pots. However, I buy a lot of pots, so typically I go with whichever one is one sale. Most Lechuza pots have a cover over the water reservoir. This model does not. I assume that this is done on purpose so that it is easier to fill the reservoir on a hanging plant. As a short person, I appreciate this feature.

FL Tested & Approved
I own two of these planters. The first one I bought over a year ago. It has held up very nicely, looks exactly like the one I just received a week ago. No fading in the color, no issues with the hanging wire, nothing! You can’t tell the difference b/w the new one & the old one. And that says a lot for a planter exposed to FL weather!I basically never have to water these since it rains often enough here. There’s an option to unscrew the drainage plug (which I would recommend) to allow excess water to drain out. The cables that the pot hangs from are very durable!! Esp since the planter is really heavy once filled with water, soil, your plants.I just added some new flowers to my original planter. Taking out the interior part of the planter was as simple as lifting it out. Dug out the old soil, added the plant & I was done. 5 stars for this brand. Have a total of 4 of their planters now. Two of this style & two of various sizes; love them all!

Great design, but expensive.
Lechuza products are generally well designed, and this Nido Cottage planter is no exception, but they are very expensive and almost always not eligible for Amazon Prime. The Nido Cottage is just like the other Lechuza planters in that it is fabricated out of hardened plastic and tends to draw more water into the soil than normal self-watering planters, which is why I use them for Carnivorous Plants. I like the stylish logo that seems to be made out of brushed aluminum. The hanging supports are cables and not chain which are wrapped around the top hook and spread apart by a plastic disk so they won't braid when the planter spins. The water gauge is taller than other Lechuza products, but this seems like a newer design that may help the stand out if a plant grows over the sides of the pot.

Great choice for hanging plants
My wife stumbled across these things when looking to replace those hideous coconut husk baskets from Lowe's. These pots still need to be topped off each day in the summer (at least in Texas), but the bougainvillea started blooming like crazy once transplanted. It also keeps the grass from dying from the run-off from other planters that drain out. Careful about the cable hangers, though. One of ours came loose and they're not easily fixable. A quick call to the US distributor had a free replacement to us in a week.

they are beautiful and easy to setup
Just got them a couple of weeks ago. Although they are smaller than I thought, they are beautiful and easy to setup. Out of all my flower pots that I have planted so far, the flowers are growing much better in the Lechuza planters. I will definitely be ordering more self-watering planters from Lechuza.

Worth the money
Bought this for my mom and she loves it! Before this pot, her hanging basket swayed crazy in the wind and her flowers died from missed waterings. This pot is heavy enough without being too heavy. Mom has the best flowers on her porch now!

C'è poco da dire
I vasi Lechuza sono ben noti per la loro qualità, per cui credo di non avere nulla da aggiungere. Ottimo prezzo, specie considerata la dimensione generosa del vaso (l'avevo sottostimato).

Great Fan of LECHUZA
I am a great fan of Lechuza. I have bought eight Lechuza planters of different sizes, shapes and style. They come well packaged and undamaged (if you have bought planters from nurseries you will know what I mean) with clear assembly instructions. They are of good quality and style and I like the fact that they have a self watering system that makes sure that they have the right amount of watering. I can also go on holiday without asking my neighbours to water my plants. Not sure yet how they weather i.e colour fading due to sunlight but they do look good. They are work well both indoor and outdoor.

Preciosa
