This is a pretty nice compass…
The package arrived on time and undamaged...This is a real honker! Lol! It seems quite sturdy and heavy too. I like the incline device that folds up on the left side; the little “telescope” on the bottom is a nice idea. I have a very expensive compass that I know is right on to magnetic north — this one matches perfectly. All in all, I really like it; if I had to find a negative point, I’d think it would be the compass's weight. 🤷♂️ If you're looking to travel light, you may want to pick another compass. I spent time as a Navy Hospital Corpsman (it's like a medic) for the 2nd Marine Division in the '70s, and we liked to shed weight as much as possible. I wouldn't take this on an extended hump for 15 miles; otherwise, it's great!

Very good quality but with one notable flaw.
This compass is very high quality. It feels made of metal so it's quite durable. The compass includes a number of features but there's a single flaw. There's a little mark within the compass that's supposed to help set bearings, but it's not aligned correctly with the other bearing sights. So keep that in mind. I don't know if it's just my compass or all of them but I have seen other reviews for this model comment how their compass has the same flaw.

Great product
Ordered this for my husband and he said it worked very well, no issues. I looked at it and it was well made.

Best compass ive owned.
This compass is the highest quality compass ive owned as far as durability, free and smooth accurate needle rotation. The clinometer is an invaluable tool as well. Excellent value, just know it is a bit heavy for a compass but i still give it 5 stars.

A solid compass with multiple features
Sturdily built hiking and orienteering compass that most importantly is accurate out of the box for pointing north. Perfect size for my emergency supplies backpack, tucks in nicely between the can opener and hatchet.Comes with a nice drawstring bag and a multi-page detailed instruction manual that is quite useful in explaining how to use the functions of the device and should be kept in the bag with the compass. The compass itself is easy to read, with a leveling dot, elevation, an a site that is sized just right to be very useful but easy to hike or travel with as it’s not overly weighty. Build quality is solid, nice quality paint job, with smoothly functioning hinges on all the openings.Very pleased with this compass. Perfect for my emergency kit and I like the build enough that I may need to buy a second for my hunting/hiking kit.

Its ok for the money, needs some modifications.
Considering the price it was almost a 4 star.It is really heavy, and there isnt enough friction in the hinges. Combine that with them putting the lanyard on the thumb loop and it basically all falls open when you hang it. It needs a seperate lanyard loop. I corrected it by wedgimg the lanyard loop so it is hanging from the hinge pin - no more weight on the end of the thumb loop and adds friction in the hinge so it stays closed, but its gonna get abraded. Needs a lanyard loop cast in.The clinometer is useless and gets in the way. The pendulum can go past the sheet metal and keep the clamshell from closing, and you cannot see the compass face while its closed - so why is there a magnifying dot on the outer glass? Not to mention there is no way to sight a distant object and get a reading because there is no sight level with the body. Its also flimsy. I am going to remove that. The accuracy issues others mention - I think thats because they are not waiting on it to stabilize. Its a bit over dampened. Mine is accurate enough if you wait, but youre gonna have to stop walking to get a decent read - not that you can read it on the hoof anyway because of the stupid clinometer. Have to open it all up.The level - should be where you can kinda get an eye on it while sighting. Should be on the side by the lens like their cheaper one.The scale - nit picking but I would rather instead of having a scale with meters and a ruler in cm, to have 2 scales, the second in miles.Could be a lot worse for the money, but it also could be a lot better with just a little thought put into its use.
