It's OK
If you have a G3 and G4, you might think this is only 3 Star. If this is your first Revv 'G' pedal, you might give it a 5 Star rating. That's why I gave it 4 Stars. Personally, I give it a 3 Star rating. The tone it produces isn't as manly as the G3 or the G4. The quality is good though. If you like to play songs that are mellow (Captain and Tennille, Sonny and Cher, The Osmonds, etc.), this pedal could work for you.

NOT Your Typical Green Overdrive
This pedal does the clean to crunch, amp-in-a-box thing really well! It's rather sensitive to your picking, so with lower gain and a light touch, you will be able to coax some really good clean tone out of this. The range of the gain knob is probably the widest of the G series, as I was able to compare it to a friend's G3 and G4. It can drive a clean channel into overdrive, or add some clarity and articulation to a crunch channel without getting muddy. Overall, I would highly recommend this.

Compression heavy
I tried the Revv G2 and the G3, both tailor made for contemporary heavy rock sound. The sonic enhancement is wonderful and massively fattens up the sound, if I played metal exclusively I would be in 'foot on the monitor' heaven with the G3.(Purple one). The G3 has the edge in turning an average clean signal into chugging overdrive, never thought I would ever hear a pedal capable of making such a dramatic shift in sound. Unfortunately for me they are overly compressed and too one tracked so I bought a Tumnus deluxe in the end, works better as a gain staging pedal, Im fortunate in having a good valve amp, I doubt the Tumnus would be any good without it.
