St Catherine e of Siena
This book opened my eyes to God Almighty and his Infinite Truth as He is Truth. Read if you want to understand His love, mercy and justice. And truly why Jesus his only begotten son came to earth.

VERY SMALL Text size (font)
I could barely see the font. Way to small to be read comfortably.

I gleaned a lot about the importance of charity and our love for our neighbor
This book was a challenge for me to read. I stayed with it mostly. I gleaned a lot about the importance of charity and our love for our neighbor, and in addition, it's a beautiful reminder that everything we are and have comes from God. I say we are nothing on our own but not disparagingly because we have been blessed from our conception. We need to remain humble and remember who is the end all be all of the Universe. And, by loving our neighbor, we love God, because our neighbor is created in God's image.

It is very enlightening.
I read this book over twenty years ago and I am reading it again because I liked it so much. It was dictated to her by God, the Father and as far as I know, it is the only book written by God, the Father. In it, many parables of Jesus are explained as well as life itself. It is a bit deep to understand and I find I have to reread sentences, but it is very enlightening. It is for those who like to be enlightened and have their minds expanded in the mysteries of the Catholic faith.

The correct translation!!
Excellent modern translation. The other version, which has the for the cover Christs feet pierced. That translation is very old school and not easy to read at all. This translation keeps the simple yet eloquent thought pattern of Catherine's native Italian language intact. I would say that as a Doctor of the Church one can hardly reccomend such an author enough, or the impact of her life on the world. Wonderful copy of this literally priceless classic. Any one who is seeking or interested in the spiritual this writing is indispensible. Other indispensible writings are St. Faustina and St. Therese Story of a Soul.

Print is as small as fire ants
I was really looking forward to getting this because the flowery language St. Catherine's work is usually translated in is unbearable to me. However, this book was obviously NOT reviewed in hardcopy format by the publisher prior to being sent to print. It is an awkward size for a paperback, to begin with, and the font is SO TEENY TINY and crammed from the top to the bottom that it makes your eyes burn to read it, and thus I still have not been able to complete my favorite Saint's writings. >:( Also good for others to know that I'm not 70 with failing eyesight, I'm 30 with nearly perfect vision. There is no reason I shouldn't be able to read anything, yet, without a magnifying glass, I feel like I can't read this.

Amazing Revelation
This book really ignited my faith, and I'm so glad I read it. It gave me a deeper understanding of God, and I've read the Bible cover to cover. There are things I always wondered about explained, and a true emphasis on mercy and forgiveness, while also emphasizing personal responsibility towards living in a moral and holy way. I recommend this to absolutely everyone.

Missing content
This version has been edited. Several key important chapters have been removed in this version where God speaks his mind on different sins committed by man. I bought this for someone else and verified it against my own copy. In my estimate 1/4 to 1/3 of the book has been edited out. I am trying not to allow myself to think there is something sinister at work here and that publishing companies have not resorted to "censoring" holy books. The book mentions nothing of being an edit and why a Saints book would be edited is beyond me - the mind boggles...The one star is purely for this point. On a side note I am very impressed with Amazon's book returns policy - thank you Amazon!

St. Catherine's love for the Father animates her very life.
Been illiterate, and giving her dictations to one or more of her (3 - 4) secretaries, St.Catherine delivered herteachings directly from the Father, who "catechized" her WHILE SHE WAS IN ECSTASY. She thus "by-passed" —butdidn't necessarily oppose or negate — every other legitimate earthly authority. Her conversations are contained inthe well-known book, The Dialogue.

Read with your heart - not your head. It will change your life
This book was difficult to read at first glance, but once you get comfortable with the lengthy paragraphs and just let your soul feel the message, it is so profoundly beautiful. It is not for the faint of heart - it would rattle those that prefer to live in the ignorant biss OF this world. Embracing the message can assist in transcending the human condition and embracing the life God wishes for us.
