Is the flush pull chain possible on the left of the cistern or only on the right. The picture and technical specs aren't clear as to where inlets are.

This comes with all the internal flush fittings. The flush pipe, push pull rod and brackets are included in the Burlington Flush Pipe Kit

what is the difference between this and a cast iron cistern, and which is more durable?

Thank you for your question. Generally, both cast iron and Aluminium will corrode over time and therefore need some form of internal protection (usually protective paint, or a plastic liner). Cast iron will tend to corrode more quickly than Aluminium and is also lot heavier! I do not think any manufacturers still cast from iron - most of the cast iron cisterns tend to be reclaimed. The Burlington Aluminium cistern has an inner coating of protective paint. I hope this answer helps.
