Universal Faucet Parts SA906CP Brass Flow Control Valve

I bought this item, Universal Faucet Parts SA906CP Brass Flow Control Valveto, replace the other shut of valve, KES K114B, because I thought it would be easier to turn the water on/off while showering. We are trying to conserve water because of the drought here in California. Well, it turns on nicely but it does not turn the water off completely. As a matter of fact, it leaves so much water running that isn’t worth trying to turn it off. We are very disappointed in this product. The valve does not function as described so don’t waste your money. The original valve work great but it is harder to turn if your fingers aren’t that strong. No, I would not recommend this product if you are truly trying to save water.

Junk. This is essentially a 1/2" ball valve. The port going through the valve is about 1/4"(maybe smaller) and chokes off the flow way beyond what was expected. This should be a full port valve and let you decide how much you want to reduce flow. Stay away. The issue that I have is that I have a tankless water heater and it reduced the flow so much the flow switch on the water heater drops out and you get a cold surprise while showering. Really poor design. So many of these junk off-shore valves are NOT full port and do not serve the purpose intended.

Feels heavy and well made. When wide open, I get the usual water flow, and it is very easy to dial it down to a lesser amount, while retaining the temperature. Exactly what you need if you are dealing with the California drought and you have a shower that only lets you adjust the temperature of the water.

Contractor finally got enough work done for me to move in to the house. The second time I took a shower the handle flew off of the brass flow valve and the shower was no longer usable. The contractor had to take it all apart and put it together again with a new flow control valve. Of course by the time all the work was done the time to return the product had expired. FAULTY!

I should have taken to heart what other reviewers said about this product. It fell apart in minutes. Actually, it appeared to me that it had been put back together and sent right back out. I thought that they, after reading their reviews, would have fixed the problem by now.

Valve has worked great for two months now. My current house even has very high water Pressure.

Solid brass construction. Nice finish. Smooth action, stops flow completely when off.

Did not turn water off -- still kept a slow trickle going even with valve turned off.
