My Virpil joysticks eat a lot of power from the USB bus, so I had to split the power sources to keep everything else from draining. This adapter allows you to use an extra USB port for power. You can also use a phone charger, and plug in a USB extension cable to get power. USB 2.0 will suffice for that purpose - just keep in mind that a powered bus doesn't turn the lights off on your devices. It just cuts the connection to the PC when it turns off. For joystick purposes, that would be useful so you don't have to keep recalibrating it. one would think digital connectivity would have solved the calibration issues by now.

I needed a way to run Android Auto without my phone running down it's charge. Up until recently, cars only supplied a small amount of power through the USB ports, because that is how the specification was written. Android Auto takes more juice than the original USB jack can produce. The solution is to use a high power adapter in the 12v socket, that has plenty of juice but it doesn't connect to your car's electronics to drive the car's built in screen.Plug this unit in, one plug to your high powered adapter, the other one to the car's data port. Then add a cord that is USB-A to USB-C to plug into your phone. It works! Android Auto without having to pay the $450 that the car dealership wants to install the high power USB kit.Note:. I tried to do this same thing using similar USB-C plugs, the problem is that USB-C cables have a chip that flags whether your connection is input or output and it will fight you all the way. Get this instead, it works.

Used splitter to provide additional power from Raspberry Pi 4B to SAMSUNG T7 Shield 2TB. The data transfer speed remains the same (~1.8Gb/s) before & after connecting this cable in between.

And my incredibly well-thought out plan was a bust. My battery still can't push enough to not 'slow-charge' BUT thats not likely a fault of this adapter as the slow-charge WAS faster with this in use, if only marginally so.Built well, a bit chonky, but everything fits snugly and should work totally fine. Cant 100% confirm it's charging power but I'm not disappointed with what I got.

As a gamer, your headset is a key component. The Astro A50’s are the best on the market. But you can only charge them on their base and while the PS5 is on. This changed all that! Now they can charge on the base all day whether the PS5 is on or not. Really helped out a lot!!!

Works great, if you know what it's for. I needed some of these to power my usb drives attached to my pi because the pi basically doesn't supply power through the USB ports, so you have to power things separately. If you don't use something like this, the drive may appear to work at first but as soon as it needs more juice it glitches and you lose data.

Honestly there is not much to say! I used this cable to connect an HDD to my Wii U and so far so good! Don’t overpay for anything else this cable will get you where you need to go!
