I love the look. It adds a unique feel to a simple book stand. They are heavier than I expected which allows me to put it on a mantle with a few books and not worry about tipping over. It is a great gift idea for someone who is old school and reads books.

I've had bookends in the past that just didn't have the heft necessary to stay up and constantly fell over. These bookends have heft, are really interesting to look at, and they're gorgeous. I'm really pleased not only with the aesthetic of them but also the functionality. Well worth the price I paid. I didn't notice any rust on mine as some other reviewers have noted. I'm using these to hold up a collection of signed paperbacks that I have from indie authors so I can't speak to how well they work with a # of hardcovers, but for the task that I'm using them for, they work perfectly. Highly recommend!

I didn't tell my husband (Robert) that we bought these specific bookends. When we opened this package he laughed so much, for almost 5 minutes straight. The arrow design really made him chuckle. We agreed it will be a great conversation piece! They hold up these 4 hardcover books (that I just gathered to take the picture) but they look great on our bookshelf and will hold the whole shelf just fine. Get them!

These are perfect!! I wanted some cool bookends to put on my new bookshelf and got these for my Hunger Games books. They’re just what I needed to display them :) they’re a good weight, not too heavy, and they’re the perfect shade of gold.

When I unboxed these, I was so disappointed. They are crudely made; bad welds, crooked in every direction, and bent up. My SO (a metal worker) was very unimpressed. He took the worst one (the arrow) into his workshop and did some sorcery on it, and brought it back perfectly straight about 5 minutes later. I was relieved. The quill side was the straightest and is still crooked, so I might have him straighten that at a later time. Aside from that, they are heavy enough to keep a long stack of books upright, have a nice aesthetic, and are functional, once tinkered with. Who knows... Yours may be perfect. I'm glad I don't have to send them back, and for the price, I think I might order another pair, knowing what I know.

These are a gift, very heavy iron and look great in the western theme guest room.
