Disappointed
The two spring loaded buttons used to adjust the pole are extremely hard to press. Can anyone give me tips to depress them. I can't use them at all right now.

Great for working alone & supporting a laser level
Nice sturdy 3rd hand. Very useful when working alone, which is what I normally do. I've used it to help support casing when trimming out a garage door opening. I've also used it to support my DeWalt DW087K laser line level. Since the pole is steel, the DW087K sticks to it because of the 2 rare earth magnets on the level. I've used it to support the laser level to hang 2 drop ceilings, to help me level door jambs, & to help set shelving level as well. There are some laser level attachments that you can get for various poles/supports, but I took a chance on the level attaching just using the magnets & it works great for me. There are also some ends you can put on the pole that will clamp plastic for trying to keep a dust control work area. Since I only have 1 pole, I haven't used them yet. Some people have complained about the buttons to extend the pole being too hard to squeeze, but there's also a black line drawn on the inside pole that helps you align the buttons. When I get the buttons pushed in, I just twist the inner pole so I don't have to keep depressing the buttons. The clamp end of the pole seems to be very good quality & is smooth.

Not easy to use for laser levels
Returned the pole the day I received it. Why?1. Tried to integrate my "Bosch Positioning Device for Line and Point Lasers BM1" with it as an online comment has asserted but this was NOT the case. Magnets on the Bosch are not strong enough, and wire ties would not hold the vertical positioning. I would expect the FastCap 3-H LMOUNT 3rd Hand Lasermount to work but I wanted the Bosch micro fine height adjustment capability.2. Dislike the fact you have to push in two spring-loaded ball bearings to adjust the height to FIXED 6 inch intervals on the pole. They are really painful to push in with fingers and dislike having to choose height in fixed intervals, then fine tune the height with the top ratchet-er.3. It is quite inconvenient to have to to to the top of the pole to firm up the height and lock the pole into position. A zip wall pole height adjusts from the ground.4. Due to the top adjusting section being a small metal bar (no longer the hollow pole shaft as below) you cannot laser in positions near the ceiling. Very inconvenient as your mount does not affix to a tiny rod.Overall it's a great product for what was designed for, say installing kitchen cabinets. But I would not recommend this for laser leveling as a first choice. I'm sure it works with the pole laser accessory but I'm going to switch over the the Bosch pole to take advantage of their mount. Although that mount does not tilt, and Fastcap mount does. So if you are doing a stairway or anything leveled along an angle this would be a better solution.

Better than expected!
Wasn't exactly sure of how well this item would be made but was very happy when I saw the quality of it. The only thing I was disappointed on was that there were no instructions. While 95% of it was self explanatory, it came with one attachment that I was unsure of how to connect it. I emailed Fastcap and very quickly they responded and walked me through it. Other than that, it's great. I took it straight to a home project that I had put on hold simply because it was awkward to do by myself. This made the project easy to do and the support pole worked fantastic. It has a very nice fine tune setup to put what your working on to the exact height needed. Very happy I ordered it and would recommend it highly.

Shipped without feet
Incredibly disappointed, my package came only in its product box and not in a shipping box. The product box was partially ripped and looked to be re-taped with packaging tape on either end as if it had been repackaged. Upon opening the box, I discovered the pole to be in good condition but without feet. How am I going to use a it without its feet? Very disappointed.

Buy these if you have a VR setup
I've been using these extension mounts to hold my Oculus Rift cameras in my office and I can say without a doubt they are the best accessory I have purchased for my VR setup. It has obviously helped with not tripping over cables all over the ground, but I was surprised just how much better the tracking had gotten through the ceiling mount. I was also surprised to discover once I had the cameras mounted to the ceiling that the Rift was now able to pick up my headset over by my work desk which is outside of the little "VR cube" that I've made myself with these poles. For those of you buying these mounts for something other than VR, I can say that they are rock solid and easy to install. The mounts have yet to shift, even with all the jumping and dodging that I'm doing in VR.
