Good book for identifying the primary muscles involved with each move.
I was looking for a book that would let me identify the specific muscles being worked during specific moves. The illustrations in this book meet my need. I wasn't looking for a medical school quality book but something that would give me a good overview.

Awesome
This book is great. I'm in the physical therapy field and this book is great to show patients to educate them when performing exercises. The pictures are amazing and detailed

Pretty pics, semi useful info
Similar to some other reviews I read, this is maybe a great coffee table book. I've referred to it a few times but mostly it's value has been aesthetic.-Worth whatever the price was-

The illustrations are gorgeous; the advice is just okay.
This contains beautiful illustrations of muscle anatomy and is very helpful for clearly showing how different exercises work specific muscles. In my opinion, the main value of the book is limited to the beauty and detail of the illustrations. I've been weight training for over a year and have achieved a good baseline of muscle development. I was looking for information that would provide a segue way to a higher level and don't find that this book offers any really seriously progressive information for someone who already has established a weight training routine. As a matter of fact, some of the "advice" is not "advice" I would take. For example, Mr. Linares writes that 30 minutes a week of weight training is all that is needed. Most bodybuilders do more than that. This makes a great looking coffee table book. I'm not impressed with the "advice" but it is a delight to look at the illustrations.

Good variations of exercise and nicely explained why and how to do it
Needed them so badly to know what exercise hits what muscles. Especially for complicated back muscles
