The Watch: A Twentieth Century Style History Hardcover – October 15, 2019

Obviously the author knows the subject of watchmaking, so one's knowledge of watch makers and important trends accelerates with reading and viewing the text. Photos are superb. Author's writing style is pleasant without resort to hyperbole, as can be found with other watch writers. But watch out, book is heavy, don' drop on naked toe.

Beautiful book. Wonderful photos from many eras. Would give 5 stars but my copy came with the pages upside down in the cover.

This was a gift for a watch enthusiast.

Given the title of the book, I was very disappointed by the amount of omissions that influenced style. There are a number of watch brands under represented despite having a major influence on style. Great book if you like photos of classic Rolex watches. There seemed to be little reference to the movies, sport or post war military influences on watch styles.
