I had lots of questions too.
Overall I really like this kit. I put it on a 2017 explorer sport. I did the install myself since the two quotes I got to install it were $250 and $375. I wanted to post a couple of my experiences because I looked all over the internet for some answers to specific questions and found conflicting responses.First in the amazon description it says “2.5” in the front and 1.25” rear”. The kit that comes is 2.25” in the front and 1.25” rear.My kit from amazon did not come with the .25” extra spacers for the front, but I called Traxda (5 stars) and bought them for $30.The kit comes with instructions that are kinda hard to understand and does not include any of the torque requirements for the bolts that you have to remove and reinstall. I bought a Haynes repair manual and followed the instructions for strut replacement (front) and spring replacement (rear) for removal and installation and used the Traxda instructions for adding the kit to the strut and springs themselves. The Haynes repair manual has all the torque specs in it.You will need an alignment after installation, my explorer had a little shake until I had the alignment done. Also, I took it to a place that is familiar with lift kits and they said they didn’t want the specs that come with the kit, they were going to measure it all anyway.Lastly, I changed the wheels and tires. There is a lot of conflicting information on the internet about what size will fit. I’ll tell you what I put on. I installed ATX rims; 18” x 9” with a 35 offset and a 6.38 backspace, so it pushed the wheel out a little from stock position. I then put Toyo AT2 265x60x18 (30.5”) on it. The front tires rubbed a VERY little on the little mud flap in the back of the wheel well so we had to cut it off. It doesn’t leave a hole in the wheel liner though and you can only see it if you know what you are looking for.So, I am having a very good experience with this kit. No driving issues, and it looks great (in my opinion the way it should look from the factory). Hope this review helps.

Quality lift kit, your 5th gen Explorer deserves this!
This is a good quality kit, the materials are high quality, and it is designed to give you some lift while retaining factory ride quality. However, I'm only able to give this kit 4 stars due to a couple of issues I had. First, let me say that if you get this kit, have a qualified mechanic install it for you. I installed my kit myself, and while it's pretty straightforward, the provided instructions are a little light on specifics. So the lift kit I received is slightly different from what's pictured. First, I did not receive four rubber bushings, which would have been nice on the rear spacers. Second, and much more importantly, the front sway bar extension plates I received have been changed from the two holes as pictured. The spacers now have two channels cut in them. The channels are NOT big enough for either the sway bar bolt nor the provided extra bolt to fit through. I had to throw my spaces on the drill press and ream them out with a 1/2" bit. Finally, one of the rear shock extenders was welded a bit too thick, I had to hammer it to get the shock bracket over it, and even then the factory retaining bolt barely threaded. Anyway, that's why I would recommend having a mechanic install it, so they can worry about all that stuff, and save you the headache! Fortunately, after calling Traxda customer service, they immediately called me back and worked with me on getting everything modified to fit. 10 out of 10 for Traxda customer service! All in all, you won't be disappointed with this lift kit.

Lift kit works great and Explorer looks great
I installed this lift kit myself on my 2016 Ford Explorer AWD. It took about 5 hours. The lift was not hard for me to do, but I have the right tools and mechanical knowledge of how to do it. The instructions were confusing for the front strut mount as to the correct mounting position. I called the company and they told me the correct way to mount it. I had it aligned immediately. It works great and is not causing any problems or making noises. It really looks good and as others have said, this the height that the Explorer should have come from the factory. I still have the stock tires on it and will be replacing them with AT tires when these wear out. I talked with the owner of the company a couple of times about some of the bad reviews. From talking to him and from my experience the problems were because of someone not doing the install correct. I highly recommend this lift kit. The only reason I gave a 4 for due to instructions.
