Saiyuki: The Original Series Resurrected Edition 2

I want to preface this by saying, I am a long-time fan of this series. I have desperately wanted more Saiyuki for years...and now we have it! I cannot tell you how happy I am to have this book. The quality is AMAZING - it's a gorgeous hard-cover, and just as the first one was, this is clearly the coolest manga edition I own. Large pictures, good quality paper, extras, COLOR PAGES, and in a HARD COVER EDITION. I'm beyond thrilled. I have pre-ordered every single edition they have on the market, and I can assure you, I will continue to do so. Just like ChanLee says, I am really and truly hoping they pick-up the other parts of this series. Oh to have the entirety of Saiyuki Reload (even the last book! That was never brought over!) in editions as awesome as this...and Saiyuki Reload Blast, and Gaiden and Ibun...please consider it. Plus, if these editions do well enough that might be in the cards! Please, new fans and old, show support for these new releases - you won't regret it at all. I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

I’ve first read Sayuki in a fan translation about 20 years ago. I have been waiting for new chapters since, and although I don’t think there is much hope anymore because if Minekura dono’s health, I won’t give it up.This story is cheeky and deep and gorish, and plays with topics of death, love, sex and self destruction while somehow remaining fun to read. A legend, really.

I have enjoyed this series for many, many years. It has been out of print for nearly that same amount of time. I was ecstatic when it was announced the original series was being re-released in a hardcover omnibus.The oversized pages are clear and crisp, and the color pages at the end of the volume are beautiful. I've had every one of these volumes pre-ordered the moment they were available and can't wait for for the rest of them to be released. I truly do hope they also bring back Reload as the final volume was never published in English, and release Reload Blast, Gaiden, and Ibun.

This is Part 2 in Kazuya Minekura's story of the Journey West. Join a gun wielding priest named Sanzo, a human turned demon named Hakkai, a half breed named Gojyo and the monkey king Goku as they head to save the world from a demonic aura. This unlikely foursome make for fun hijinxs and an amazing story.

Beautifully rendered artwork, and such a pleasure to own in this cool hardcover edition. The black lines are crisp and the colors pop where they appear. Really hope this company continues to do this with Saiyuki titles that have never been adapted into English, like Saiyuki Gaiden, Saiyuki Ibun and Saiyuki Reload Blast. Will continue to buy and add to my collection with these easy to read and enjoy Resurrected books.
