Boyt Harness12874 WC120 Waxed Strap Vest M/L

I purchased this for upland hunting. Simple, one size for summer dog training and adjust the shoulder straps winter hunting. Was super happy with the shell pockets and the small hidden one for license and spare money. Where my excitement stopped was the first day in the field with a gun! I like to have a variety of positions to carry my shotgun(s) in. Only on one shoulder or cradled didn’t sit well with me. I thought the metal hardware would be great! Solid, long lasting and well, metal. Only the shoulder adjustment and front bucket were right in line with where my gun would be - so carry positions were divided in half. I’m not risking a scratch or gouge in my guns, especially my favorite s x s 20ga. I can’t give it a 5 star review - I wish I could!

Boyt makes top notch goods and this is one of them. I have a cloth and leather gun case from Boyt that’s 20+ years old and still going.

Awesome vest but a little hard to get a bird in the back and the water bottle holders are great for normal disposable water bottles but would have liked something with a drawstring that would accept a Nalgene.

Like the big pockets and heavy duty material. Dislike the back pouch. Almost impossible to get birds back there by yourself, need to be a contortionist.
