Does this heat up as well?

It’s not a heater…. However, 1) It draws out excess moisture from the air.. this moisture when cook can make you feel cold. So although the same temperature it will feel warmer when the humidity in your home is reduced to the 50 - 55% level. 2) Times when it is working it appears to push out warm air and this can be quite pleasant when you sit next to it. Also aiding in offering warm air to the room. 3) When used for laundry you can pop it into a continuous mode so it constantly draws moisture. Wet laundry in the home will always make the home cooler.

does this item come with filters, or do I have to buy them seperately?

Comes with a filter inside and a spare one. I’m very happy with this product and it’s effectiveness.

Hi does this model have a child lock?

Yes it does. Manual states child lock is active if you "press both UP and DOWN arrows at the same time for three seconds to activate child lock. LC will appear on the display. This stops the functions of the dehumidifier from being changed. The dehumidifier cannot be turned off when child lock is activated. To deactivate child lock, press the UP and DOWN arrows at the same time again for three seconds."

Does it work as an air purifier at the same time as a dehumidifier?

Yes, it does both at the same time provided you fit the Hepa filter
