California Innocence Project Victory for Brian Banks
An amazing true story that sheds light on the criminal justice system. The California Innocence Project in San Diego, CA is a real program that has provided real results for real people. The work they do touches lives & souls and sets free many wrongfully-convicted individuals. Brian Banks' story was raw and cut deep to my heart while watching it portrayed on screen. Brian Banks endured a lot, but rose above his circumstances despite all odds. His faith, resilience and sheer determination helped him to find his freedom. The acting was superb & the storyline is remarkable and stays with you well after you finish watching the movie. I highly recommend watching "Brian Banks" because it shows that freedom is not free, but it is definitely worth fighting for. A great message for people of all backgrounds.

I really wanted to see this and paid full price instead of Redbox wait...but
This is a great story. The acting is good. However there is not enough character development to be moved at the end. There is a rush in the story. This movie would have been better by just adding another 20 minutes of character development to understand the then, the aftermath, and the triumph instead of just saying it in the beginning and a few short scenes. You are not as connected to it as when you watch the story unfold and get the different views. It is more like watching a news reel with a synopsis and then some video. There is too much of the after and quick ending, but not enough beginning. Therefore you sympathize, but you are not as moved as you should be. It is great to support these types of films but maybe the budget did not call for the additional time and character development.

A man fighting a broken justice system to prove his innocence
Brian Banks is based upon a true story. He was a high school football star in Long Beach, California with an offer to go to USC. Then he was falsely accused of rape which threw his whole life upside down. The movie focuses upon his attempt at redemption. The movie starts off with the many struggles felons face such as getting a job and making new friends. The heart of the story however is about him trying to overturn his conviction, but he finds out it is nearly impossible because of the rules. As his lawyer Justin Brooks (Greg Kinnear) tells him at one point, the justice system is broken and people in his situation are screwed. He faced unsurmountable odds but kept fighting. The movie really succeeds at hitting an emotional note with Banks story which makes it an uplifting film to watch.C

Disappointing
I thought this was a Christian movie I could watch with my wife without being offended by certain language in the script, we only watched a few minutes of the movie and turned it off, writers today have far less imagination than those of the past, everything has to have language in it, what about to kids who watch these movies?

The California Innocence Project in action
It is always wonderful to see justice prevail against all odds even when by current written law it is not possible to change past convictions. Unfortunately, our system thrives on plea bargaining which puts far too many innocents into prison where the most common mentors teach criminal survival tools that always fail society.

Heartwarming story of guts and glory
Talk about courage!! Brian never gave up. I don't know how he overcame all the negativity surrounding him. Loved the movie. Great acting all the way around. Must see!

brilliant!
This movie was like watching a living, breathing prayer being answered, when you didn't really believe in prayers.Brian Banks had the balls to say screw the law, what is the TRUTH?! ...and inspire a lawyer to act on that despite against all odds of success in the face of procedue and historic lack of access to review?one of the best movies i've ever seen and beyond that i think it may have changed my life in that in the future instead of just sitting screaming inside maybe we should all scream on the outside like Brian, demand to be heard like Brian.let's face it, while we were all sitting around the power brokers have been crafting laws to silence us in the courts. So you think there are laws that protect you and your loved ones, you think you have rights, and you only find out that you don't after some terrifying life shattering injustice happens to a family member.I'm glad George's family is being heard but i wish George had been...
