I used this to install a fan on a suspended ceiling. It worked very well and seems to be quite sturdy. The only problem I had was getting the holes to line up with the holes on the ceiling fan. I eventually did get an alignment as the fan had quite a few options for installation. I would recommend this item.

This solved a problem of installing a ceiling fan in drop ceiling. It was easy to install and allowed me the flexibility in installation to give me a good fit and confidence in the installation support to know the fan won’t fall through the ceiling. Great quality and appearance.

product works really well. it clips on the grid of a drop ceiling, and you just need to get it configured right. Not hard at all.i used it for a hanging light fixture in 2x2 drop ceiling, in a spot where a 2x4 fluorescent fixture used to be. in my case, i might as well have been hanging it in a 2x4 grid, because of the new grid piece not adding much support. But the way this is designed, you really only need three "good" sides of grid to make this work. clever design.unless i missed something, the junction box will wiggle a good bit since it's just dangling from supports...but my light won't be moving to disturb anything. But i would be more careful if installing a fan to make sure that wiggle isn't going to be an issue.

We have a metal framed house with a suspended drop ceiling that was going to make it difficult to install fans. I purchased six of these and the installation was so easy and completely solved my issues of not having anything to hang our fans from. Would definitely recommend these and be will buy again if I ever decide to add more fans.

So I bought this so I could attach a normal light fixture to a drop ceiling panel because I did not have sufficient headroom for a recessed light. This kit contained a lot more than I needed but should have everything for your situation. In my case I have a 2'x2' grid and my light fixture (not a fan) was <10 pounds. I only used one of the braces and did not use the chain as I thought it unnecessary for my situation. Yes there is another part here at amazon that seems more appropriate but this one is cheaper and you never know how you are going to attach these things until you have everything apart. On lesson learned is cut the hold for the electrical box smaller than the electrical box. You want the electrical box to ride on top of the tile and the screws from your fixture to pinch the tile between it and the box. The first tile I cut I made it the same size and the trim kit would not snug up to the ceiling tile. Your mileage may vary and I am no expert electrician or on county code...but this did exactly what I wanted. I needed to put a normal flush mount light on a drop ceiling tile. FYI if you haven't thought about it already this all means that the light fixture is attached to the tile and if you want to remove tiles you will have to disassemble the light fixture or have room above the drop to accommodate the box, tile, and light fixture. In my case with the low clearance above the tile I will have to disassemble but that is a small price to pay to get the light where you need it. Very happy to have amazon on this one as 5 hardware stores I went to just gave me blank looks and pointed to recessed lights

Opened the package and it appeared retaped and was probably a return. Like other people it had missing parts. It looks like basically none of the main parts are here and are just random pieces from something else.

Moved into an old house that had drop ceilings in many areas (most I tore down bc they was already somewhat damaged but the one in my sons room he wanted to keep only he has to have a ceiling fan (you know boys tend to sweat more when going through puberty and when the sleep. So this worked holds the weight without any issues I fully expected it to wobble and I really thought I’d hate it. I was wrong! He’s happy! I’m happy!
