I’m in the peri menopausal group of ladies suffering with recurrent utis and following many months of being asked if I ‘wipe front to back’ and am I ‘keeping clean down there’ I’m now prescribed antibiotics on an almost monthly basis. It’s a pain having to keep providing urine samples though and I do worry about antibiotic resistance so was keen to trying something more natural that had been so well reviewed.Firstly; they definitely helped with symptoms, I could almost feel the burning discomfort melt away when taking the ‘under uti attack dose’ of 2 x tablets three times a day for 3 days.However I’m now off to the docs for more antibiotics as the latest infection has really taken hold and am slightly concerned that the tablets eased the symptoms which allowed the infection to develop. Possible over sharing but I did dare to have intercourse when I was only 97% sure I was over the last uti so that probably didn’t help. Wish I’d got the night sweats symptom instead, utis are the worst.Anyway, good luck ladies, there was effect enough that I will keep experimenting with them.

I had suffered with recurring cystitis for many years – a course of antibiotics would 'cure' me for a few months, but it always came back. After becoming totally frustrated with the lack of interest or knowledge from three different GPs over the years, I scoured the internet for alternatives, and it was an article in Vice magazine of all places that alerted me to the benefits of D-mannose. I tried another brand at first and was amazed that it gave me relief within 24hrs. I went onto the maintenance dose, but a few months later it was back. So I decided to try this brand instead – it's more expensive but worth every extra penny – I have been totally cystitis free for one whole year now. This is life changing! I have reported back to my current GP and to her credit she did a bit of research and agreed that I should continue to use it. Happy doesn't begin to cover the feeling that I have finally found something that works so effectively for me.

There isn't much information about UTIs in men as it is a lot rarer than in women, there also isn't much information about D-Mannose in general. My GP wasn't 100% sure, but spoke to a urologist who also said it was good to take. Would recommend if you are on the fence on this one.

To my knowledge, D-Mannose is often recommended by doctors as a prevention tool.I did not see any adverse effect or anything I could be concerned about. Worked well for me. But remember this is a food supplement and it is still better to consult with your doctor.
