I bought it 6 years ago, we had 4-5 cats of our own plus several fosters for the first couple of years, then just 2 cats for the next 4. It is now getting frayed enough that I am wanting to replace it, but it is still in great condition overall. The top area get frayed more (little hairs of sisal that end up sticking out) because of how they stretch and scratch but it looks like what another cat tree wrapped in sisal might look like in 6-12 months. Speaking of other types of scratchers, that have a round post with sisal wrapped around it (instead of this weave pattern), my cats all loved that type more originally, but this post is their favorite thing in the work now.
