First Hiking Shoe
So I am an adult female but wear boyish clothes. I started hiking a great deal with my nephew and he introduced me to the Merell brand. And I ordered the size 4 wide width and took this baby out for a spin yesterday for the first time. We trekked up the hills and pastures where they was high grass, rocks and slippery dry soil. Not to mention cows. Yes cows lol. And let me tell you my feet felt the difference. This is a great shoe and very durable. We hiked for 2 miles last night and I know I was well equipped due to this shoe. This is my very first hiking shoe ever.

Poorly made shoe
We bought these for my son since we do a fair amount of hiking. He didn't wear them until September 12th. Since then we've gone on several hikes but no playgrounds mud puddles or whatever else. Put them on for a hike two days ago and the shoelace broke and then we realized that the eyelets holding the shoe string were falling apart. Wow!!! Less than a month . I am two days past my return window, too. Very disappointing! Poorly made shoes. Buy elsewhere and save your money.

Stable, solid
The only area for improvement is the strength of the shoe laces. They are on the weak side for such well made hiking shoes

Wel- made and a good price
Bought these for my Grandson. these are well made, comfortable and he can beat the daylights out of these. They are a very reasonable price too. Sturdy and will last. Very good quality.

GREAT FOR FLAT FEET
Never received them but i had a family member say they have good arch support. And they helped with flat feet. Hiker boots are the way to go for arch support!

Laces almost broken after only 3rd day !!
We just needed hiking shoes for our child for a trip immediately so couldnt search any better looking shoes. Other than looks they work well but laces are cheapest and defective !! They should exchange !!!

Wide still too tight.
I like the look of these shoes. Construction seems good, etc. Doesn't matter though as the wide was still too tight on the sides of his instep.

Heavy, dense shoe
My son doesn't care for these much. He likes the style but the fit is tight. He also complained that the insole is too stiff. I think they are way too heavy. Merrill needs to find some better tech materials. These are more like a cheap brand hiker or a heavy work shoe.

The best walking shoes for me
This is an excellent brand, the second pair I’ve bought. They fit perfectly and are very comfortable for long walks and hikes.

Not as supportive as I had hoped
I have very small feet, a narrow heel and small ankles so I often by children's shoes. The shoes fits as expected and are well built. However, they are awkward around the ankle causing my step to wobble. Third day in them I rolled my ankle and caused a sprain. I have never sprained an ankle nor am I prone to injury. I realize a boot is better for ankle support but something about the heel of this shoe is just not right. Perhaps these are better suited for people with wider heels.

Good shoes, however they're not as waterproof as could be.
Not as waterproof as I thought they'd be. And, the pull tab loop, at the back of one shoe, has already ripped apart, so it's no longer a loop, just a bit of an eyesore. Kid likes them though!
