BattleTech: Embers of War

I just wish there were more coming. I have read just about every battletech/mechwarrior book available and am saddened that there are no more new ones.This book is faithful to the universe, mech combat is action oriented and descriptive. The ground operations are full of intrigue and hold true to what you would hope for from word of blake and wolfs dagoon's operatives. Well written and paced. I whole heartily recommend to any fan of the universe.To people who are just getting started with battletech books, you might want to start somewhere earlier in the timeline. This book assumes you know who the major players are such as comstar, word of blake, the dragoons and the free worlds league. Little to no description is given as to why some of the strife between these groups exists. A new reader might be lost.

I have tons of Battletech/Mechwarrior books. If you love Battletech/Mechwarrior this is a great entry. Enjoy!

The Return of old scifi classic line of novels! Intrigue, suspense of delicate, and battle with metal titans for control of the world of Hall.The book is about honorable soldiers who pilot giant walking war machines known as BattleMechs, who's job was to try maintain their honor as mercenaries and up hold their contract as out side forces try to steer control to the world into a bloody conflict with innocent soldiers on the front lines.

I got the audible version of this and the narration is way better than the older books. Its well written with excellent narration and audio quality is great.

After reading all of this author's books this is the best. The main and secondary characters are well developed and believable. The story line is well written and holds your attention. Important to cbt readers the technology and the mechs are accurate, the combat exciting. I recommend this book.

A worthy return for Battletech novels. This book reminded me of the Battletech books I read back in the '80s and '90s. If you are a fan of the Battletech/Mechwarrior universe, then I think you'll enjoy this entry.

Of all the books this one has great plots and in depth characters. And a very good grasp of battle tech warriors and mech fights. Just needs a couple more books to finish al the plots.

A great addition to the Battletech/Mechwarrior universe with strong characters and a more complex stage than many books in the early series. Additionally it is great to finally see some new books come out, I was afraid this franchise was dead.

Ich muss sagen das die neuen Romane mit wesentlich besser gefallen als die alten.Die Reduktion an Mary Sues und Happy Endings ist angenehm. Zumal bekanntlich kein Happy End zu erwarten ist, nicht in 67.Dafür haben die Anführer der Reiche und Clans js gesorgt.Mich hat der Plot besonders fasziniert, immerhin habe ich mich bei den Stealthy Tigers schon immer ob ihres Dienste an dem Wohle der Menschheit gewundert.Söldner die nicht durch Wolfs Propaganda verdreht und so auf der falschen Seite stehen sind ja höchst selten.Der Plot ist im großen und ganzen glaubhaft, wenn auch mit ein paar Schwächen. Etwas störend sind die "ausgewürfelten" Gefechte.Für Fans auch Grognards lesenswert und für Einsteiger besser als die alten Schinken (Legends).Nicht vergessen entscheidet euch für die richtige Seite.Euer Adept Rho Omicron

This book has that classic Battletech story feeling. A good mix of characters, story, intrigue and battles.

Eine Söldnereinheit arbeitet für Word of Blake als sie erfahren, wie das wahre Gesicht der Sekte aussieht. Mir hat es gut gefallen. Ich warte auf mehr.
