Still good as new after 1.5 years use on construction sites.
I bought 5 pair of carharts and 5 pair of these pads to put in them. Not a one has split, flattened, or failed in any way. They are thick, comfortable and have save my knees alot of damage. Skip the high priced alternatives, these are the ones you want.

Good inserts but stiff
Excellent for the 5.11 pants that i personally love to wear, wanted some inserts and came across these and decided to give them a go. Firstly they do their job and after using them you barely notice them and excellent comfort. Only downside they are stiff and not very breathable causing my knee areas to feel sweaty. It may be the pants i use and the thickness as well but breathability would help a lot. They fit perfectly inside the double knee used by my 5.11 pants and the different styles of 5.11 pants i have. Like i mentioned earlier they are stiff as a board and you can see it they may need some time to break in or something but aside from that they work excellent as knee inserts for 5.11 pants!

They Don't Suck
I couldn't pass up trying these knee pads out for the price.Pros: Inexpensive for the quality you get. The quality is almost on par with a pair of Timberland Pros I use that cost three times as much. Close to the same density in both sets. TP's are slightly denser.Cons: My only gripe is that unlike the Timberland Pros these are not molded or cut to conform with the shape of your knee. This is most noticeable when standing or walking. Once you're kneeling they conform just fine. I did not feel them bind or shift at all, and was able to remain kneeling for long periods with these inserted.I may trim the top corners just to make them sit in the pocket a little nicer. All in all. Well worth the price, and I would buy them again.

Good value for functionality; stiff compared to other alternatives
I have two pairs of the more expensive official knee pad inserts for my double front work pants which I swear by. These provide great value for money as they are a 3rd of the cost however noticeably more stiff / less comfortable especially if you are driving long distances to job sites.

Great for 2 or 3 seasons
I am a plumber apprentice and have used these only in Carhartt double knee pants. I'm skinny but have larger calves so can't use these in the "relaxed" fit pants, just the looser ones. Every older plumber I talk to regrets having not used knee pads, same with folks who do tile or flooring. You can just leave them in your double knee pants forever. Sure they add bulk when washing and just in general, but it's worth it most of the time.As we are getting into summer I won't use these anymore but will use a knee board instead until it cools off again. Now this isn't the fault of the inserts, but rather the design of most pants. On Carhartts these sit a little low, almost more like a shin guard. However they are still functional as my knee will rest on the top of the pad. I usually wear 32" length and once got some 34" pants just for a little extra ankle coverage crawling around under houses and I had to pull up the legs if I wanted the pads to protect my knees. The concept is great for 3 seasons but more effort could be put into designing the pants. Overall I highly recommend these.

Knee pads for overalls
Foam pads or knee pads for my overalls a lot less pain in my knees and really cheap price for comfort

Pretty good
I shoved them into some "Wrangler Riggs Workwear Men's Ranger Pants", with the double fronts. A bear to get in there, but I did manage it.Generally they stay in place (the pants are not tight) and are in position when I kneel down. Sometimes you need a slight adjustment to get it all lined up. Not all the protection a guy might ever need - But for general use, they are sweet. A little warm (in already warm pants). When you walk in them, the pads stay just below the knee so as not to interfere with walking. They are bulky. They make it tougher to wash your pants as the pads float. But you wash and dry just like normal. In the dresser draw they are hard to handle as they take up plenty of space!!I guess if I worked more on my knees I'd consider additional pairs - Which brings up a major issue - They are not cheap! Unless you have 5 pairs, you may still need a traditional pair to put on the outside of your pants. 5 pairs are much more money than a good traditional pair (with no added laundry BS and your work pants will fit in your drawer). So, even though I have 5 pairs of double fronted pants, I only bought one pair of these and those pants are not getting worn as often as pants with out the padding in the knees. It would be better to have a flannel pocket sewn inside the pant leg - It would be softer on your knees and you could swap 'em out at will...OK product, a little expensive, not all that practical for me.

Surprisingly comfortable
Surprisingly comfy. They fit perfectly in the DeWalt brand pants and the MS9 pants. Working in a lumber yard and constantly in and out of a forklift adding dunnage and strapping lifts for delivery requires something on the knees and these definitely help out a lot
