UE ROLL Wireless Mobile Bluetooth Speaker (Waterproof and Shockproof) - Atmosphere

Every bluetooth speaker is a compromise. Even the big JBLs, which sound booming, don't compare to a home stereo. If you are looking for a bluetooth speaker that packs easily and is light for travel, plus can be handled rough and get wet - this is the winner. Anything smaller or cheaper is going to sound cheap (like the Hydra Photive). Anything bigger (like the other UE speakers) will sound bigger, but cost much more and be harder to pack. Plus most big speakers seem designed to stand on end, and good luck with that happening in the great outdoors. This speaker sounds big and warm, packs easy, and straps to most anything - including your iPod if your end up using the mini-plug with a non-bluetooth device. It can even tell you in plain English how much charge you have left! I haven't tried using two of them yet, but you can pair them for stereo even without using the UE app. We like it enough to order a second one, so we'll soon find out. Typically with outdoor sound, spreading multiple speakers gives a much better distribution than turning up a single speaker too loud. So I'm going to get a second one of these and the total cost will be less than the cost of one bigger speaker.

Bought this for my girlfriend for Valentine's day, made for a great gift! Would definitely buy for myself. Pros: - Volume buttons on the speaker adjust volume on the transmitting device (i.e. laptop) - Non-obnoxious sound when turning on and off. I also have a SOL REPUBLIC DECK Bluetooth speaker, and that loudly says "DECK is ready to pair". The UE Roll simply makes a soft drum sound. :) - Party mode allows multiple devices to connect and play music. - The iOS and Android app is very useful. - It's very water resistant. Cons: Bass is ever so slightly lacking, but impressive for the size, and better than the DECK.

I like that I can use it everywhere. The sound and the battery is better I havent had any problem with the sound I just want to have something to take and go and this is best in price and portability I love the brand and the sound that came from this speakers. I also convince my mother and father to purchase two more speakers so now they have their speaker all around the house. Is bad because I need to set my headphones on to not listen to them all around the house.

Love, love, love this speaker! My fiance bought it for me for my birthday and I have already used it a dozen times. We used to have something similar to this that we bought at Five Below, but obviously this is 100 times better quality. The speaker itself is SO loud and the music is so clear no matter how much you turn up the volume. We take it on hikes with us, I use it while I'm in the shower, and I take it to parks when I want some music while I'm working on my hula hooping. It's lightweight, compact, very good quality, and the batteries last a really long time. SO happy with this purchase. Definitely a winner.

I bought the UE ROLL Wireless Mobile Bluetooth Speaker about three years ago. It lasted a long, long time. The sound is absolutely amazing. It has deep range and exceptional volume for a bluetooth speaker at this price point. My only complaint is that the USB cord you need to charge the UE plugs into the unit at such a strange and difficult angle. Eventually the port became bent too many times and no longer charges. Thanks for the countless hours of music and podcasts, UE Roll!

I bought another less expensive bluetooth speaker on amazon a few months ago. Save you money and your time, look no more, good sound, small package, waterproof! Use it everyday, had it for two months. So far so good! Takes a beating. I take it everywhere I go. Not as loud as their next version up but perfect for what I need. Bose who.............seriously great sound, fair price!

This is really a unique take on a bluetooth speaker, but I love it. The sound quality is good, the charge lasts for quite a while, and it easily pairs with my Android phone. Best of all is the bungee cord that lets me hang this speaker in all sorts of places. It took me a while to realize the "design" on the front of the speaker was actually two buttons: volume up and down. I believe this speaker is also supposed to be waterproof, although I have not tested that feature yet. I feel this is a little expensive for a bluetooth speaker, but the extra features are a huge bonus over other models.

UPDATE: I've had the UE ROLL for less than a year now and it no longer works. The battery won't hold charge. It's been well taken care of and just out of no where won't turn back on. I'm changing my review to one star because if I'm spending $100 on a speaker I would expect it to last longer than a year. -------------------- I bought this with a little prior knowledge. I was at a phone store and the sales associate was trying to upsell..I'm not the type of person to purchase something like this on a whim however in the process of trying to sell it to me, he had it blasting through the entire store. I was extremely impressed at the kind of sound that came out of this little speaker and I didn't forget about it when leaving the store. I've owned a waterproof speaker before. It was a cheap one that I got for the shower but it didn't last more than a couple weeks and the connection of the Bluetooth was awful. This one is nothing like that. The sound: loud, crisp, clear.. The bass is pretty decent. I love the portability. I strapped it to my backpack the other day on a kayak trip and had it going the entire time. Not a single connection or sound issue. I haven't tried to submerge it underwater but truthfully, unless it falls off my kayak, I don't think I would try something like that. However it did receive a few splashes and there were no issues. If you're looking for a portable waterproof speaker that also sounds good, I'd suggest this one.
