This unit worked great right out of the box. I was able to connect the mobile app on my smartphone with no issues and see live video or playbacks from anywhere. The 1080P cameras are super crisp and do really well in very low light or no light conditions. I've got my front door camera set to automatically turn on it's spotlight whenever anyone walks up. It's a great deterrent for anyone stalking your home. I wish i could hook up a bluetooth keyboard to this unit, but my wireless mouse works great on it.

This camera setup is great. I brought this for my dad and this was an upgrade from the other swan cameras he had. The cameras are much clearer than his old one.

For the record, my brother has been installing home security systems, surveillance systems and other low voltage systems for 23 years. While he says he personally wouldn't have bought an inexpensive "kit" such as this, he did help me install it with his professional touch, though I'm certain I could have accomplished it myself. With his equipment, we were able to feed the cables from under the eves outside, through the attic and down through the wall of my bedroom. The cables exit the wall through a slotted wall plate to tidy up the bundle to keep it all neat.We decided to use the bedroom TV because if I ever heard anything unusual outside, I can easily switch the input channel on the TV to see the video feeds without having to get out of bed or turn on any interior lights.He also complimented me on buying a hard wired system vs a wireless due to the wired system being more reliable, safe (can't hack a wired system) and less maintenance.A professional grade system of comparable size through his supplier at his cost would have run $600-$1200. I wasn't willing to fork out that much. The cameras in this Swann kit are made by Toshiba...which makes pretty decent electronics.My home is a 1660 sq ft single story on a slab. 60ft of cable didn't sound like it was going to be enough, but it easily was. The programming part of the setup is a little confusing...which is why I could only give 4 stars. Visiting the product manufacturer's website answered a few questions, but I had to dig to find those answers.The video quality exceeded my expectations...even the night vision is very good and clear enough to recognize a face some 40ft away. My brother (the professional) gave this system a thumbs up for what I paid, though he said he prefers a "Power over Ethernet" type hardwired camera system as that's what all the high end commerical grade systems are. This is still a good system.At the end of the day, I am pleased with this Swann Security Camera system. The big question is how long will the components last without any issues or failures?

The camera system is great. The video quality is crystal clear during the day and at night with night vision. The app works great on the phone, it just needs few improvements. Only thing we couldn't figure out is the audio from the cameras. Please, if you know how to make the audio to work. I will appreciate your help. Thanks

I’ve really enjoyed this product after a few months. I will say the nighttime view is amazing I have had to mess with it a lot as far as it picking up the correct kind of movements...due to trees swaying back and forth in a sunny day or high wind blowing things up into the camera view. The app is a bit wonky and still a bit unsure on if it actually captures audio as the dvr has audio in and out but I don’t think I’ve looked enough into that portion yet. Either way, for what was paid it sure gives the competition of higher priced systems a run for their money as I’d rather have a few false reports then no notification at all.

Extremely hard to set up, I had to buy extra cable, The extra cable are sold at a set amount of feet. I have extra cable in my living room and it can't be cut.. The camera was bought new from Amazon. At the time of registering and creating an account we kept getting a message asking to write the original password, Also it came without an ID number. Customer service, and the technician kept asking for an ID number. The Electrician and myself had to call customer service several time, since they would hang up in the middle of a conversation. The license electrician that was connecting this Swann camera does not recommend it. I am still unable to connect it to my phone. This is a very poor purchase. I am stock with it.

This system is much higher quality than the other brands I’ve tried. The program is intuitive, and simple. Recordings look very good. And the PIR seems to work very well. It seriously cuts way down on the false alarms I used to get. Well worth the money.

I have had this up and running for a few years. The only issue I have, is the "SWANN" logo etched on all 4 corners of all 4 screens—blocking the view.
