Apexel Professional Macro Photography Lens for Dual Lens/Single Lens iPhone,Pixel,Samsung Galaxy Smartphones

Spent some time looking for a macro lens attachment for my years old Huawei Mate 9 smartphone.Surprisingly there is very little difference in user ratings for macro attachments on Amazon. After studying those reviews and buying this unit I see the key point missed. This particular lens has a 100mm focal length and both magnifies the image and closer focusing to get macro images. Most of the other macros are simply intended to reduce focus distance on your wide angle smartphone lens to get a macro image. They in fact brag about their cheaper to produce single lens system not being tainted by extra glass elements. This is a ridiculous as quality multi element lenses can be produced that are much cleaner than smartphone base glass that is clouded up from spending its time in your pocket. It is further made ridiculous by the necessity to place these lenses 10-20mm from their in focus object. This causes huge problems in accessing the image and getting proper lighting on the subject. Instead you can operate at about 60mm focus distance using this lens with far more flexibility. For reference I have included photos of Lincoln's and Georges $5 $1 bill photos using my digital zoom to push it to limit. My only dislike of this product is that rear lens cover does not work on the full assembly. But not big problem. I simply use a piece of blue painters tape to keep it clean.

This is a great macro lens! I prefer it in comparison to other macro smartphone lenses that I've used because I don't have to get as close to my subject matter of the macro shot for it to be in focus. This Apexel lens is also great at creating a professional looking depth of field in my photos, keeping the main subject matter focused while blurring out the background. This lens is also really easy to use and install, it fit & worked on my Galaxy S10e & IPhone SE without any issues. I highly recommend the Apexel PR50 if your goal is to capture professional quality macro shots with your smartphone!

I loved this lens when I first got it. I used it perhaps a dozen times and the elastic stretched out and the lens fell out of the groove. After trying to hold the loose lens with one hand, zoom and hold the camera with the other, I was frustrated and the lens now sits in a box. It's too bad. I do quite a bit of microphotography and I am very pleased with the lens viewing itself for the price, the wide angle allows a nice amount of light to create an environment for a beautiful picture. I have an iPhone 11 pro and do have to remove the cover for it to work properly. Unfortunately, I did not send it back in time and am stuck with a product I cannot use. I am looking for another lens and I am tempted to purchase it again and give it another go, but don't want to take the chance.

I originally wanted to get a different macro lens but came across this one when I was searching for it. I would say, if you're looking for a high quality macro lens that's not too expensive, this is good! As you can see from my photo, it captures the details of what I was photographing perfectly which is just what I needed. There were a few things that I did not like though. I use this lens with my iPhone 13 Pro but when I placed my lens over my camera in photo taking mode, sometimes there would be a slight black "ring" even when I get it exactly on my camera so maybe its just my phone but keep that in mind if you have the same phone. Also, this lens doesn't work for ALL phones which is slightly annoying so make sure to check to see if this works with your phone before purchasing.

I bought this to take pictures of jewelry for my business. I had a terrible time getting it to stay still on my phone lens. The distance required between my jewelry pieces and this cheap macro lens was too close to get good shots of whole jewelry pieces. I returned this lens. Instead, I bought another macro lens kit from online that was more expensive, but reasonably priced. It provided a phone case that allows the higher quality 100 mm macro lens to screw on when I want to use it. The picture quality is incomparable!

I added pics of this item fitting on my iPhone 11 Pro Max. It fits perfectly, just make sure you put it over the right camera lens. The clamp is adjustable by turning a metal screw by hand. Easy to do. The lens is well made. Its a great deal, for the amount i paid. I uploaded the bee pic and the pic of the succulent plant. You can see photo quality in the photos. I’m glad I purchased this and I highly recommend it.

This lens is a ton of fun to use. I have used it with an iPhone 8 and an iPhone 11 Pro the attached images are samples. (I do post process in Lightroom) It’s capable of producing out standing images in god light, its quality really falls apart though in anything less than ideal light. The other limiting factor with this lens is that has a fixed focus distance, getting the phone the perfect distance from the subject to get the image sharply in focus can be a real challenge. That being said, to is definitely possible to get the good images, and the images you get simply can’t be made any other way. When I show people the pictures taken with it they always assume is from my dslr, and they re downright shocked when they find out it’s my phone. My recommendation is to shoot in really bright outdoor conditions and take several shots each time, moving slightly to shift the focus so that out of the bunch you get at least one image that you like. It definitely takes some work to use, and get used to, but the results are totally worth the effort.

The clip does not fit on the pixel 8 for anyone who might be looking for the answer to that question. Lens works ok, just can't use the clip, which sort of defeats the purpose.
