I am a tea lover and I prefer tea over coffee any day so this programmable stainless steel tea maker is a dream machine. The pros: it is beautiful stainless steel It is programmable to set it to boil at different temps It can be set to keep warm for 30 mins so when you go back for another cup its still hot You can use loose tea or tea bags It's super easy to clean It's very modern and sleek looking It's very well made It's super easy to use It shuts off when water boils out It shuts off after a certain time Cons: The only con I have is I wish the stay warm feature would be longer than 30 mins more like an hour I'm a slow sipper. Review: Excellent Glass Kettle - After receiving the kettle several months ago I returned it because the electronics malfunctioned and I wrote a very negative review at that time. After receiving a replacement and using it for several months I am revising my initial review and rating of 1 star. Having previously owned two Brevilles (stopped using the first because of BPA) I decided against purchasing the fully automatic one because of poor longevity and plastic coming in contact with water. The SMAL works flawlessly (as a kettle only) for heating water for coffee and tea. It appears to be of high quality and the glass allows you to watch the state of the water as it is heated. The number of pre-sets are adequate for our needs- but may not work for someone looking for more presets for different types of tea and would have preferred another preset for higher temp for coffee; and I don't know if you can extend the time after temp is reached. The beeps help notify you of the status and can be helpful. Overall, this has just enough features to work very well for us; has as good quality as the more expensive electrics I have seen and is designed well (lid locks in place so water won't accidentally spull out and the handle is well designed-the grip and balance work well. I want to send it back for a replacement but I am told that after a month, it is no longer eligible for return or replacement. How can I return the pitcher portion?
