Just in time for the joyous holiday season, this film connects the ancient Mayan prophecy of worldwide destruction at the end of 2012, and the iconic holiday song, The 12 Days of Christmas. But there is hope: a father learns that his daughter is really the "Chosen One" who, alone, can stop further catastrophe - if he can stave off the lunatic townspeople blaming her for the community's destruction.

Perfect for a Covid year 2020
12 disasters in 12 days, and it really fits into the type of year 2020 has been. When I saw Anchor Bay and Cinetel in the opening credits, I had hopes for a better quality movie. But this movie was obviously done on the cheap, and it showed. One of the things that stood out is that the front of the vehicles, for the most part, had their identities obscured. That made no sense. One could quickly see they were Ford, RAM or Chevrolet, so what was the point? Anyway, there is a Mayan myth that the world will end with 12 disasters, and this was foretold in legend, and formed the basis for the song 12 days of Christmas. The lead female character is Jacey, and she gets a ring handed down which gives her special powers. She has to gather four more rings to be able to save the world from destruction. The rings are hidden around the town area. There is a developer, Kane, who holds great influence in the town, and Jacey’s father is at odds with the developer, so Kane becomes the baddie. The movie isn’t really very good, but what I really didn’t like is that they made Kane into a Fundamentalist religious fanatic, who decided that Jacey had to be sacrificed to save the world. This was a distraction from the story, but made into part of the plot. And the 12 disasters were really more like 12 occurrences.

Excellent movie 👍⭐.
I had never seen this movie before. Unfortunately with any movie, there has to be a bad guy, Kane was down right cruel. The movie was filled with suspense.

Boring, Just skip.
I have watched a lot of disaster movies, yes lots of B movies, even D movies lol. I don't mind super cheesy effects so much if the story is interesting. But this one was so frustrating to watch. I admit, I liked the weird concept of the movie. A girl (the star) along with her dad has to find five rings so she can wear them and save everyone from the end of the world. But this movie lacked edge of your seat drama and focused more on a bad guy trying to get to the girl, which as someone else mentioned takes away from the disaster and "adventure" of finding the rings. The acting was pretty terrible too, especially the mom of the girl.

Who made mother nature mad
Yea, my movie, I'll start by saying am totally thrilled at getting movie. Love disaster movies, had seen sometime back and I just had to get this one too.Don't think I'd want to live there, but never know when something like this could happen. Right, we don't really know what all mother nature has in store for us do we. Now if this could happen then we deffinately need to treat mother nature better than we do, don't you think.

Now I've seen everything...
It's end of days today - 21/12/2012 and the world will end unless 18 year old 'chosen one' Jacey is able to gather five rings and save the world. This is a Canadian made-for-TV film with a load of actors you have probably seen in numerous other TV shows. It is a low budget affair which tries to tell an enormous story with the most limited of resources - including time. The film starts out on Jacey's 18th birthday and we find that the world will end by the end of the day! And all of the remaining 12 disasters (as per the film's title, and some of them have already happened before the film commences), are all going to happen today. The whole thing is exhausting. And you would think that the pace of the film would be high considering everything that has to be achieved, but instead it just feels like one big badly planned rush. Things move so quickly that the actors don't seem to be able to catch up and look a bit bewildered much of the time. It doesn't help that the story (ie. a Mayan prophecy being enacted in small town America, and under a dome of all things) feels out of place. As you would expect, production values are minimal with lots of cheap digital special effects. And as this is a family film, there is the obligatory cheesy family get-together-with-hand-holding to finish things up. Good luck.

12 Disasters
