Shipping: 😐 | Quality: 🫤 | Nostalgia: 😎
I loved this series so much as a kid, so being able to purchase for such a sweet price really makes it nice to buy! However, when I opened the package, I found that the back of the book was bent! It was disappointing to find such a good book in that kind of state, but the nostalgia is what makes it worth it to keep!

My grandson loved it
My grandson - age 9- started reading the Bone series from the school library and loved them. He informed me that the #7 and # 9 book weren’t available from the school library. So, I purchased them as a surprise. He read them within 2 days. He rereads his books too. He highly recommends the Bone series

A true masterpiece of comedic fantasy.
It could be slightly unfair to call the Bone series "Comedic Fantasy" since it hardly makes light of it's own subject matter, yet the apparent humor is anything but consequential. I initially became aware of this series during a brief run of part of the first chapter in Disney Adventures comics, and later on acquired the One Volume Edition that has the entire story in one large paperback (Greatly recommend). When I heard that Scholastic was going to rerelease the series in full color I quickly hopped on-board and bought them as they came out. After book six however I could no longer find them in stores, fortunately Amazon has it all.As the finale to the series I have to say that it's just as wonderful and expertly written and drawn with such masterful stroke as the rest of the series. Though by now there's not much left in the story to leave room for the more comical moments, and the epic climax is on par with that of most high fantasy I've read. The book, being the final chapter, wraps up all the plotlines in a rather epic way, connecting threads between previously unrelated characters. Yet while the story is nicely wrapped up at the end, you still are left wanting to know more about the fate of the characters as they finally come full circle.I must also add praise to Jeff Smith, that while his story is accessible to people of all ages, he doesn't make compromises on his content, some of which can be violent or risque, yet it's a charming book that I wouldn't hesitate in the least from letting my children read and enjoy. Highly recommend!

My kids love these books
We have all the Bone books. I personally do not understand the appeal, but my kids 6, 9 and 11 think they are great, and I'm always happy to buy them whatever they need to be bought to keep them reading books, even if they are comic book sort of things. Even the six year old who does not read a ton really likes looking through them.

A Book That Made My Daughter READ!
This is the last in a series of books/comics that MADE my child want to read. These books are written for children in the 10-13 years of age. My child HATED reading and it was difficult to help my child advance in school. The Teacher thought this book series might help. She was right! Now, my child reads voraciously and reading skills went from BELOW BASIC to ADVANCED by the end of the School year!I have read these books and find them appropriate (in my opinion)for the above ages. I hope this helps and KUDOS to the Author for writing this entertaining and interesting series of stories. I hope this is a good reading idea for children who simply need something interesting to SPARK their desire for reading. As a Parent I would be remiss to reccomend a book without ENCOURAGING other Parents to read this first or ask their childs teacher to see if it is appropriate for your own child.Thank-you.

A wonderful last instalment of Bone: the excitement ramped up to fever pitch but still doesn't overwhelm the character studies
A wonderful last instalment of Bone: the excitement ramped up to fever pitch but still doesn't overwhelm the character studies. The new characters from the last book are fully established now, the old characters achieve resolution. The book is wonderfully exciting, the different between this comic and the Lord of the Rings movies being that the characters here are so strongly dilneated that the book is never just spectacle and all just hot air. The characters of each and every character here shines through while at the same time the action is breathtakingly good.

League of its own
Few people are blessed with a vision which can keep them at the top of their profession for twelve years. Jeff Smith, however, is one of them. This makes Bone very hard to pin down in words. Mr. Smith is master of his medium, and his art defies reduction. You can read this in two hours, and if you're a fan looking for a resolution to the story you might, but that would be missing the point. It might take you two years to extract all the nuance from this tale. This is the last tale of Fone Bone and his friends. People who have followed him this far will be impressed by the resolution to this epic: everyone gets a look in. To those of you who are new to Bone: this is essential reading. Go back to the start, spend eighteen hours reading the lot ... and then spoon your grey matter back off the walls of your domicile and bow down before the Master.Fone Bone is a strange but very human creature from a mysterious city called only 'Boneville'. Exiled with his cousins, Phoney and Smiley, he arrives in a beautiful valley full of wonder. Humans - Gran'ma Ben, Thorn, Lucius Down; scary rat-like creatures with a fondness for quiche; inscrutable dragons. And so the story begins. The rest, as they say, is history. The artwork and the simplicity and the complexity will make you green with envy. Read it.

The end of an epic journey
The Bone cousins' final chapter in their epic adventure trying to return home... Not just this volume but the whole collection is one of my favourite comics ever: funny and heart-warming, with a gripping story that has its own "myths and legends" and clean but quirky drawings. This edition is the original black and white version, which I prefer to the coloured one... call me old-fashioned.

A powerful, exciting finale to a most enjoyable series
Reason for Reading: next and last in the series.A powerful, exciting finale to a most enjoyable series. Coming up to this last book I had some trepidation. Would it be worth the journey? Would it be a satisfying end? I can wholeheartedly say yes to both those questions. First off we are presented with a nice fat volume considerably larger than previous volumes, letting us know we can settle down for a good read. Action-packed, with a conclusion worthy of the eight previous volumes it took to get here. All major characters have their fates determined and get closure and it is not all "happy, happy, joy, joy" for everyone either. I'm not going to say anything about plot in this review, you'll just have to read this far yourself to find out on your own. But I highly recommend the series. Some volumes are better than others, but all rated high with me, either 4 or 5 stars. The story takes turns towards the darkside and is lightened up every now and then with a humorous side story. And all throughout the story, even though it does get mighty dark at times the humour is always there too. My favourite characters were the Red Dragon, Ted the leaf bug, and Bartelby. My favourite of the main characters was Smiley Bone. If you haven't had the pleasure yet, take some time out and read the series as it is a great ride with a satisfying ending.

Mala compra
