These definitely work well. I use in our car to help reduce humidity. This batch does not have the white cover. Not sure if these are how they are made now. The text description states works faster with no paper cover ? The mfg description still has the safety cover mentioned . Other reviews also mentioned same issue. I will need to research further.I contacted DampRid Co, Mystery solved this item FG118AM from Amazon does not have the white cover. may speed up absorption. This is mentioned in the text description next to the product picture. From other retailers it does have a cover, if you need that. No cover works ok for my use.

I have been getting these on subscription for almost a year now. Every time they are missing the white fabric covers when you remove the foil wrap. I just make them out of paper towels. This is getting old. I will start complaining next shipment. They did use to have them before.

At the end of a couple months all the beads of the top are gone and the water is full in the bottom so what can you not like about it? It works. I put it in my Corvette that I don’t drive a lot, so the moisture doesn’t build up mildew in the car. I use the no scent.

Product works well for closets that get moldy or accumulate moisture. Amazon had the best deal found but noticed a small difference between what has been sold in home improvement and Amazon. Amazon items were missing a ventilated cover. this allows for the absorbers material to spill out when tipped on its side, where-as home improvements have this barrier. Also, half the Damp Ride containers where broken, the plastic screen inside the container that keeps the absorber material from laying at the bottom. Overall looks like everything was shoved into the container with no regards to functionality. Next time I'll buy at the home center again as the Amazon product was worth the small savings.

BUYER BEWARE!! I have used DampRid for several years, and it has always worked great to help remove excess moisture. I’ve also purchased this size the 18 oz. many times, and always with good result. The product packaging was always secured with a protective covering that left little chance that the crystals or water would spill even if turned over. This is particularly important for those with children and pets. This 3 pack which just arrived has no protective covering. Only very loosely covered aluminum foil which instructions say to remove. When removed, crystals are exposed and could pose not only a cleanup mess if spilled but worse a danger to a child or pet or even an adult. Not happy if this is the new DampRid and will be seeking something other than DampRid in the future if this is the new norm!

I moved to an area that is very high moisture. My closet and bathroom get the worst of it. I have to keep a close eye on my clothes as they get full of mold because of it. This is the reason I purchased Damp Rid. They definitely help. As you can see in the photo it draws the moisture in the air. It can fill up in 3-4 weeks. I realize I will need to use more at a time as I still find mold.I'm not sure if this can stop the issue but I think it does help. It would probably be a lot worse if I didn't use it.
