I rarely write reviews but felt this product deserved a mention. My Dr. recommended I take Red Yeast Rice for two months as my cholesterol values were high enough to be out of the reference range. Wow, what a difference this product has made! I'm a 63 year old female in good health but have a family history of high cholesterol. These are the results of taking KAL Red Yeast Rice (once daily, 1200 mg) for 60 days: Cholesterol on 5/23/16 236, on 7/25/16 170 (down 66 points) Triglycerides on 5/23/16 159, on 7/25/16 65 (down 94 points) HDL on 5/23/16 74, on 7/25/16 74 (the so called "good cholesterol") no change LDL on 5/23/16 130, on 7/25/16 83 (optimal is less than 100 mg/dl) (down 47 points) Needless to say, I'm sold on this product. I've had absolutely no side effects or issues with these tablets. It's all good! Price on Amazon is good, too, and it beats paying Big Pharma for their products!

This is good quality item. I have been Very pleased with it. I take 1 in the morning and 1 at night. It was recommended by a Doctor. He specified it had to be this brand, this has made it possible for me to stay off cholesterol meds. It rasies my good cholesterol (HDL). Off setting my bad.

The dietary supplement industry is not regulated so I am always a little unsure if the dietary supplements I purchase are really what they say they are - there is no way to know. I have been using KAL Red Yeast Rice Once Daily for almost a year now. I take RYR at the direction of my cardiologist to reduce LDL cholesterol levels. It works. My LDL cholesterol dropped significantly. High cholesterol runs in my family. I pay very close attention to my diet and I exercise fairly vigorously 5-6 times a week and have for many years. Once I turned 55 my cholesterol started creeping up despite diet and exercise.

My husband has had excellent results using Red Yeast Rice to reduce his cholesterol without enduring the Liver-ruining side effects of statins. It was actually recommended to him by a doctor! We have had best results with the KAL brand, cheaper brands use more fillers and tend to be constipating. Stick with the good stuff for your health!

Before you buy this product, be warned that it is a HUGE pill. Never seen one this big. Impossible to swallow and I can’t return it because I opened it.

I read research that said that most natural supplements don't work, the one exception was red yeast rice which may decrease your cholesterol levels. It certainly worked for me. This is my favorite form of RYR as it is one pill of 1200mg, and so I only have to remember to take it once a day. My local Vitamin Shoppe often had insufficient stock or no stock at all, so I started buying it on Amazon, and it was less expensive.

I'm not unhappy with the product itself, but the Amazon delivery driver seemed to think that throwing this over the fence onto the dirt in my side yard, was the same thing as delivering to my door. This is the third time one of their drivers has tossed a package over the fence. What are they thinking??

OMG....2 months ago my dr. wanted to put me on statins and I said no I think I'll try something first. So I bought some Red Yeast rice and just got my bloodwork back.....my dr. was amazed...it went down 45 points....I'm soooo happy.....if you have high cholesterol, please try this first before going on chemicals. I love it!! (I also take COQ10 with it but you can buy it together and only take one pill that way):-)

I ordered 60 tablets but only received 30. This is completely unacceptable. The product description was misleading, and the delivery did not match what was promised. Very disappointed.
