API QUICK START Freshwater and Saltwater Aquarium Nitrifying Bacteria 1-Ounce Bottle, Blues & Purples

Some people say this doesn't work but my tank seems to be cycled (hurrah!) Just checked today and nitrites were 0 and nitrates were 5, which is great news because this stuff is so much more affordable than the Fritz Turbo Start 700 I would've tried instead if this didn't do the job

I use this all the time I like that it's a drop per gallon unlike a lot of the other brands which are the tablespoon per gallon

This product works great definitely will buy again, keeps my turtles water nice and clean

Works as expected. Speeds up the nitrogen cycle in the new tanks. Not bad, though I wouldn’t completely trust it to add new fish into water fresh from the tap in a new tank. I think you still need it to age it a bit and let it cycle and then add this stuff to speed up the process

I've bought this brand before that's why I bought it again wish I had bought the bigger bottle because I actually bought it for a 5 gallon and switched to a 10 gallon and this bottle is actually for a 5 gallon. But I like this brand I've never had any problems with this brand and now I like buying it online with Amazon

I bought a small bottle of this to help start an aquarium and did my research afterwards. It turns out there are no studies that prove "bacteria in a bottle" works and all studies done show that they don't work as intended. The companies even admit this on their own websites. You cannot keep nitrifying bacteria alive in a bottle for more than a couple of days at absolute most, and they also need surface area to live on (rocks, gravel, foam, etc). They don't just have free floating colonies in water. They do not produce spores. There are a lot more reasons why this does not work but there are too many to list here. API sells good products and I am not poo pooing on the company as a whole. But this product isn't one of them.

I have had fish 40 + years and I only trust these products. Now API and I use Terra. These are the companies who know fish and reptiles. When you want to have pets in captivity to stay healthy productive and alive there is no other brand you should trust. Highly encourage you to get a bottle of quick start and especially stress coat. Also get the terra thermometer all are necessary to the livelihood of your fish health. No more cloudy water or haze or itck and negative bacteria. Use carefree.

I was aware of the amount because I did read the description but it was still a little disappointing, haha. That’s just me. Good product though.

Worked as needed

Superb product. API is one of my resources for many of my aquarium essentials. Never had any problem with any of there items.
