Very good for beginners! Simple and easy too!
This is the best beginner Violin Book I have ever worked with. It’s not overwhelming. Very simple. It is basic and has these catchy little toons that help you drill those notes into your head. It’s so fun you forget you are learning. The catchy little toons give you satisfaction when you learn them. Makes you want to keep learning.I have tried other beginner violin books and they confuse me. If you have ADD this book is for you. Each page is not overwhelming. I can’t have too much stuff on one page or I get overwhelmed. This has different tunes and it helps you get the notes in your head. Also there is enough room on the pages to write in notes to yourself. Or like I like to write G,D,A,E, above the notes so I can memorize the name of the notes. If you are teaching yourself violin, I would highly recommend this book. If you have ADHD.l or a child who has it. Pick this one. I bought two other books before this one and it was too confusing. Also they were not as interesting because they just had a note and had you repeat the notes and not much of any catchy tunes. Also this book contains a cd to help you along as well.

Excellent book!!
I just used this book for the first time tonight and I LOVE IT!!! I'm a 30-something year old, and just picked up a violin a few weeks ago. I've been trying to take lessons on YouTube... there are some great videos there to get you started, but I felt like I needed some books. I sounded bad before, but when you play with the CD it sounds pretty darn decent. Much better than screeching along like a dying cat with no accompaniment. LOL! I'll be buying more of the Fiddle Time books for sure. :)

A Good Simple Book With a Good CD
I've seen other reviewers talk about the goofy songs. To be honest, I haven't looked at the words - I assume there may be goofy lyrics. I'm more interested in the music, and getting started with some simple tunes. I listen to the CD in the car, and while some of the tunes are overly simple, many are quite nice. All have a countdown and a piano accompanyment, and I'm looking forward to learning to play them on the violin. Many are good solid base melodies, and I can imagine adding more flair and depth to them as my skills increase. The book was very inexpensive, and the shipping cost was surprisingly low, considering the fact that it was coming from the UK.I only took a few days to arrive, which again surprised me, coming from so far.I plan to buy a few more books in this series.

Great for beginners
This has helped me soooooo much in my practices. It even comes with a CD so you can play along and hear your progress. It also has step by step illustrations to the notes. Loved it

One of the best books to learn to Play violin
I bought this as an Adult, even when it was designed for children. It was recommended by Alison Sparrow, the "Online Piano and Violin Tutor" - I am glad I followed her suggestion!.I was impressed that even the very basic melodies are fun. I have made a lot of progress. Thanks!

This is a fantastic book with a CD to accompany you
This is a fantastic book with a CD to accompany you. The songs are fun. I am teaching myself the violin. I am very much a beginner and it took me about 2 months to finish this book. I have now moved on to fiddle time runners as this series progresses in difficulty.

Golden
I'm just starting to learn the violin and this book is helping tremendously. It has both simple tunes you can play when you're first learning, and then once you're further along, you can play the same tune (it's like a duet, one part is easy, the other is moderate) again. Definitely like this book.

Fiddle time joggers
"Fiddle time joggers" was written in such a way that would appeal to a young beginner. The songs are silly little, unfamiliar tunes for small children, and the book has all music and very little instruction.
