The best leca I’ve ever had, the only one I’ll buy
This is perfect leca. Nice and tiny size makes it so pleasant to plant with. Requires the usual rinsing and a bit of sifting to remove broken bits, but less than some other brands I tried. Bag seems small, but will fill at least two 6” pots and then some. Would be buying again. If you’re new to leca: wash it like rice, rinsing until the water is mostly clear behind first use. Wash out outside, don’t let clay down your drain. I also recommend using a sifter after the first rinse to separate the fines. Pro tip: store the clean leca in nutrient water, so it’s hydrated and ready to go when planting. I store mine in a giant cleaned out costco pretzels container, but a 4qt cambro should also work. Remember leca is super lightweight but voluminous,

I recommend this product!
This is the second bag of Clay Pebbles I have purchased. I was not sure about them at first, but now after a couple months, I can give an educated positive review.I needed some real help with my orchids! I was doing just about everything wrong, and they were not doing well at all. Along with following some instructions from the Orchid Girl videos (which I love), and buying some new plastic pots with drainage slots, and using these pebbles, I think I may have saved some of my plants. My main problem seemed to be overwatering, and the bark potting stayed too damp between waterings. Recently I started repotting my orchids using a combination of these pebbles and bark. Everyone has different techniques, but this one seems to be helping me. I put some pebbles on the bottom of the pot, and then put the plant in the pot, sitting the roots on the pebbles, and then I sprinkle some more pebbles in between the roots until the pot is filled a little more than 1/3rd (see photo). Then I fill the remainder of the pot with a coarse bark blend, one that has good size pieces and won't break down easily.I have been really pleased!! In, just in a few months, most of my orchid plants have brightened up, their leaves are shiny and the are giving me pleasure as house plants again. I hope I get some blooms, of course, but the first step is to get the plants healthy! In the 1st photo, you can see that new roots are growing happily both in the bark and the pebbles. I really think the pebbles are helping with drainage, and they hold in some moisture without oversaturating the roots of my plants.I recommend this product! Best Regards, Robin Lyons

Clay Pebbles for Orchid
Taking care of an orchid for a neighbor & noticed it had "wet feet" which had caused root rot. Repotted the plant and used the clay pebbles as directed by orchid experts online. They seem to obsorb water and help keep the plant somewhat moist during the winter as the house humidity is low. Orchid appears to be recovering.

Dusty, lots of small debris
Make sure you rinse first. Lots of dust, especially at the bottom of the bag. My pothos/Devil's ivy cuttings have taken to the LECA pretty well and have been growing in them for about 5 months now. I would recommend going for at least 4 lb bag if you have multiple small plants. The clay beads are easy to use after rinsing and soaking for a few hours. Most of the LECA beads are a good size. You have a handful of tiny beads ½" or smaller at the bottom of the bag, but not too many. They're a little pricey for the amount you get/getting started, but the nice thing is they're reusable. Before reusing LECA beads between plants, I rinse them off, checking for broken off roots and debris and microwave them in a bowl of water for a few minutes, then let them cool completely before putting away.------------------------------------------------------------------Update 12/2/2023My first order was great, but my second order, not so much. I got a lot of tiny, craggy pieces that were unusable as well as tons of tiny balls. The LECA from my second batch also had a dull brown color, nothing like the vibrant terracotta red ones I got with my first order. I'm hesitant to order again because the price keeps going up and the quality is going down.

Bioactive Vivarium to growing roots from stem cuttings
I bought more than one of these bags since it's so versatile. I was looking for a medium for a drainage layer for my bioactive vivarium layer and bought a bag. when I got the first bag, instead of using it for Vivarium, I started using with Pothos, Lucky Bamboos, and vegetable cuttings and it worked great! For the value, the quality and the volume are great.

Good quality leca!
These are the first leca ball I’ve tried and will stick to this brand.I like the size variations. They seem to settle well around smaller plants to keep them standing upright. There were very few broken bits and while there was some dust it was easy to clean by rinsing a few times.I followed directions and soaked them over night and I’ve been impressed with how well plants are doing in them! (Along with proper nutrients added of course).

Good for hoyas!
These clay pebbles are great! I use them for semi hydro for some of my plants.I boiled some of them before use to sterilize them but for the second half of the bag I didn't do that and just soaked them for 24 hours so they would have moisture. My hoyas LOVE life with these pebbles and ever since I've switched them over they're doing amazing. Ofcourse, you have to make sure to fertilize a bit as well as there aren't nutrients in the pebbles. But for certain plants they REALLY thrive in this stuff. Would recommend!

Great product, but small quantity for the price
needed organic clay for my hydroponic system, but after paying for it and seeing the package, it is a small quantity for the price.

Good for a few houseplants
As other reviews had mentioned, it is a relatively small bag for the price. However, I just needed a little bit to put in the base of my houseplants pots to help with drainage and this was a great amount for a few plants without too much left over. I have it filling the bottom inch or two of my pots with a layer of regular soil over top. They’ve helped immensely with drainage problems and mould that was growing on the old soil. I’m definitely no professional gardener but to help with a few house plants this is definitely a good bag.
