The Phantom Bully (Star Wars: Jedi Academy #3)

This is the third installment on the Jedi Academy series. If you read the previous books, you are already know what to except. However, this installment is not as intense as the previous book. Which means I could put it down to sleep, and pick it up next morning to finish. Yet, the charm of this series continues to its satisfying ending and a promise of more in the future, I wish.In this book, Brown tells us what happen to Roan on his third and final year of middle school in the Jedi Academy. As in the previous installments, this book is written in the fashion of a black and white comic book with interlaced pages from Roan's personal diary to give us an insight to Roan's mind and other notes such as letters and pages from the Padawan Observer to flesh out the Roan's world. This layout makes it easy to read, being easy on the comic pages and a bit more challenging on the dairies section for young minds.This time around we start with a Roan that have learned from his mistakes, but soon enough we learn that he is constantly bullied. So the challenge is constant through out the book, yet with the help of Roan's friends, even the challenge of a bully can be tolerated and eventually overcome. I can relate so much (sans the Jedi powers) that I just baffle how much Brown got right. And I love that the book didn't go too dark, when in many instances it could. We all need a ray of hope, and this book is just that.The good thing is that this book is only 176 pages long. I was able to finished in two days, because I started with my little one. However, being this short is also a bad thing, because I want more. Hopefully, the message in the last pages becomes a promise for more.PS. I have been trying to find a way to start my little on on the ways of the Force, and this was just what I was looking for. A good resource for Star Wars and those starting to read.The bad thing is that it is only 176 pages long and I finished it in a few hours. So I could easily recommend this book for Star Wars fans and, frankly, for anyone who wants a chuckle with a good and simple story. On top of that, this is a book that you could easily pass to your little one

I am a 9 year-old who has read all of the books so far. Now, I have finished the book and this book was GREAT. Roan and his famous novel strikes again, making a third book! When the first came out, I was enjoying the story and plot of the book. Then I saw the second book and was enjoying the story, although the first was better. One year later, came, the: JEDI ACADEMY #3 THE PHANTOM BULLY. Now according to the cover I was not THAT inspired to read, but I still was excited. DO NOT JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER!!! The book was amazing... except... Gainana was a little different to me, but the book still is amazing (if you want to know who Gainana is, then read the novel)! I hope you were inspired to read the book from my rating. I hope you like it.

My oldest son loves this book, the story is easy to read for his grade level and the content is pertinent to young kids today dealing whit bullying whether it be direct or indirect. The cover art is fun and it is a hardcover book so it will last a while and hold up to the wear that a 9 year old will deliver throughout its time in our home.

This book is so nice!!! I have read all books. I was totally hook to this book when I went to my friend house to play and he was reading the first book. I asked what it was about and just said: wow.you don't know this series. After hearing that, I wentto a book store and bought the first book. When I saw the book cover at first,I was like what kind of stupid book is this. But after reading it, I was like never judge a book by its cover. NEVER! When I finished it, I waited for the next book for a few months and it finally came out. I like this book as it got my attention when i was browsing sing through the kindle store. I was shocked and bought it without checking how much it is. The book funny and nice. I am waiting anxiously for the next book(if it is going to come out)i will buy it first.

Much like its predecessors, The Phantom Bully could be described as a simple graphic novel for kids set in the Star Wars universe. But it could also be described as a funny, entertaining book, filled with memorable characters, wit and cool references to the movies and other books. Yes, it's for kids, and yes, it's simple, but that doesn't mean it doesn't work for adult readers or older Star Wars fans. The story and characters are quite clever, actually, and since the protagonist is an underdog, intelligent and loyal but constantly bullied, it's not hard to root for him. All in all, this third instalment is quite worth the quick read. Can't wait for the next one!

I sure hope these two men havent stopped writing these books. What a wonderful gift to give and receive. I have ordered the third one written and my grandchild was more than thanking me.....they are a great read and with my grandson being a Star Wars EVERYTHING (what else can I say) he loves these books!

I loved this book! It's hilarious and entertaining, and a great end to a amazing trilogy! Roan and the other characters are great and fun to read about!

My seven year old is completely obsessed with Jeffrey Brown and these books. He snuck and pulled an all nighter to finish the trilogy...on a school night! My son has always enjoyed reading but he literally could not put these down. He laughs hysterically as he's reading these silly plots. There are comic like drawings on each page, but there is plenty of real reading involved. My son is now a huge Jeffrey Brown fan and I've purchased every age appropriate Jeffrey Brown book I can find. We are patiently waiting until August when the author releases his newest series!
