Keeps a great edge after lots of work.
I’ve only honed my blade two or three times since I started using it several months ago, and probably won’t consider sharpening this knife for at least a year. The blade is thin, and the knife is very light overall. Still, it’s sharpness and durable edge make it a go-to for all of my light work. Cuts though bone… not recommended. The metal seems slightly reactive, but polishes easily. Just keep dry.

Recommended by Wirecutter - Very nice knife for the choosey chef!
I bought this knife for my son who loves to cook and also happens to only buy the best of everything for himself. He had only one knife he used because it was the sharpest he had and it was not sharp. But with two kids and a wife to support, a high-quality knife for himself fell way down on the priority list. I went online to Wirecutter which, if you don't know is an excellent guide for finding really good reviews on lots of items. This knife was #1 so I ordered it. It has not been a disappointment. It arrived quickly and is beautiful and VERY sharp. It also has an excellent weight to it in that it is weighted properly for its use. I bought a cover for it as well. I will tell you that my son was thrilled and the knife has its own special place in the kitchen drawer. I am hoping someone will buy me this knife! It is one of those things you don't buy for yourself so it makes a great gift if you have a chef in the family that is using cheap knives.

Awesome Chef's Knife.
I had never heard of this brand until I was looking through a subreddit dedicated to kitchen knives. This was recommended as one of the best bang for the buck knives out there, allegedly comparable to $300 knives. I'm not a knife expert, but I'd think that's true. It came out of the box sharp as heck, and has maintained that edge pretty well with honing before and after each use. It also has not rusted at all, anyone complaining about rust needs to make sure they fully dry it and that their knife block isn't compromised or something. Maybe they have a really humid house?I'd definitely recommend this knife to anyone looking to upgrade from their basic knives. I don't think I'll need another chef's knife for decades with this one.

Quality knife saves time prepping
Fits my small hand which would usually get tired and pain from chopping and slicing. Not anymore...Great to have such a nice knife that makes kitchen work so much easier/well worth the price.

Great Knife
This knife is great. Just be careful you take care of it because it can rust. I did notice that even though it has the Santoku knife dimples, vegetables still have a high tendency to stick when slicing. It’s a thin place so maybe they are not deep enough. I’ve only sharpened it once and use it every day. It has very good durability. I use it to cut meat and veggies only. Chicken, steak, carrots, onions, and potatoes.

Dimples!
I don't like knives. Having cut myself pretty seriously once, they make me nervous. I bought a couple of different knives (Mac Vegetable Cleaver, Case serrated tomato knife, etc.) to see if I could make cutting vegetables less time-consuming and more comfortable. I'd never had experience with a Chef's knife or a dimpled knife before. I did a side by side comparison between the Mac Vegetable Cleaver and this 8 inch Mac Hollow Edge Dimpled Chef's knife, and I was really impressed by how much easier and faster the dimples made cutting potatoes. It also makes cutting meat much easier than anything I've ever used. I'm still careful, but this knife has become my favorite knife.Note: I considered the 10 inch version (because of squash), but the 8" version is substantial and still nimble enough for smaller tasks.

Easily the best kitchen knife on the market
Obscenely sharp, controllable and just a great feeling tool to work with in the kitchen. Size and balance are near perfect for the home cook. Keep it sharp and it will be a lifetime kitchen tool.

Workhorse of a knife, but it demands respect
I use this knife at least 10 times/day and it's the best knife I've ever owned. Prior to this I had a santoku knife I bought at Target and the handle broke in 6 months. When I got the MAC I cut myself with it 4 times, but now we have respect for each other.I have this and a bread knife and honestly that's all I need. Best kitchen knife ever.
