Matte Chocolate Truffle Brown Cake Eyeliner & Pressed Eyeshadow, Water Activated Powder; Gluten & Cruelty Free

This cake eyeliner is great! Exactly what I was looking for! Simply wet the cake with a drop of water to moisten with a liner brush before applying. As a professional makeup artist, I have always preferred to use this type of liner after first sketching a pencil line over the eye. This will sharpen and connect the line over and under the eyes to perfect the desired shape of the line. This routine allows the liner to last all day, and not smear. It seems to get harder to find a good 'wet-dry" cake liner, but this one is the perfect choice! I will definitely purchase it again!

This is eyeliner deserves 5 stars. The powder blends easily with water enabling you to control intensity, consistency & transparency. I have very sensitive chronic dry eyes & allergies to many cosmetics (including hair products & detergents). I was therefore doubly delighted that I experienced no irritation. Being water soluble may seem to some a double edge sword- it makes it very easy to blend and also remove. Since it is dry & not waxy, skin heat it is less likely to melt & smear it. I also like to use an eyeliner fixative ex ., Jolie’s, & have found it’s still in place in the morning! I find the easiest way to work with it is as follows: Use the inside lid of container as a little blending palette. Transfer a tiny bit of water with an eyeliner brush, then use that brush to bring in the right amount of pigment. Adjust to Blend till desired texture & intensity achieved. Any excess can be allowed to dry & used the next time. Put on. I find eye pen & pencils much more challenging to use as their smooth continuity of application is affected by any bumps or imperfect terrain around the eyelashes. This requires I go back with a brush to fill in missed portion & smooth out areas which are too heavy in deposition. This is a “non issue” using cake liner & a quality brush. Bumps & imperfections seem to smoothly covered. I like to work from the highest intensity of color along the lash line, subtly lightening at the outside for a more subtle effect. Sometimes I will use another color also along the lash line- greens, purple & blues can be subtly blended in enhancing one’s natural eye color or whites of the eyes. When dried, I preserve my work with the eyeliner fixative. That being said, this particular color brown comes out having a rather noticeable orange undertone on my skin. I have a lot of gold undertones, so would probably do better with a true brown. It’s probably ideal for many & I’m able to offset it by working in another color as previously described.

This eyeliner goes on so smoothly. I do wish that is stayed put longer.

i've always been a fan of cake eyeliner. It goes on with a skinny brush and water and it stays all day. This is the best color purple that I've ever found! I'm about to order two more so I never run out.

It is not water activated; there is no pigmentation to the eyeliner. Wast of money. I would give it a zero if I could.

The item arrived broken inside. I used it anyway. The eyeliner color is ok(I got navy). It wore off in just a few hours so, at least on my eyes, it is not long wearing.

Great cake eyeliner. The colors and size makes it perfect for my travel bag and everyday makeup as well.

Apparently, I didn't read the instructions or user reviews, so I've been applying this eyeliner dry. The product goes on smoothly and provides a well-pigmented yet soft color that lasts virtually all day. (I'm retired now, so "all-day" is shorter than during my working life, but still, at least 10 hours plus.) I've had no issues with smudging. I like the look for an older woman, not sharply defining like wet/gel but bold enough to define my eyes.I like this eyeliner enough that I'm ordering another pot of the navy blue color to stock up in advance of any shortage.
