Very easy to use
When my abusive ex husband left, he dulled all my scissors and knives. This has fixed my problem very quickly. I also have some dexterity challenges (looking at you ex husband!) and this was easy to use. The suction cup bottom is also very helpful since I have nerve damage in one hand.

Multi purpose sharpener that works!
Worked exceptionally well. It Quickly put a nice sharp edge on knives, scissors and a machete . No assembly required. Small easy to pack and take with you or store. I have used it affectively both by using the suctioning feature and simply holding it in my hand. I plan to buy more as gifts for friends and family. Highly recommend.

It is very different than other sharpeners I've used. A bit harsh for me.
Go very easy & READ instructions! I just wanted to sharpen my knives not destroy them. I still use an Old Hickory set from my1965 first marriage. Using the #1 slot, I put kniks onto a butcher knife. Instructs plainly state to not start with the #1 sharpener. They just didn't shout that strongly enough for me. ;) I can smooth this out with my old ceramic sharpener. Nothing wrong with this gadget, if you pay attention & use it correctly.

So easy a complete novice could do it, and well at that!
First let me say I'm a complete novice at sharpening and have never sharpened anything before in my life prior to buying this sharpener. I originally purchased this sharpener only to sharpen an old pair of kitchen shears I'm quite fond of that were so dull from repeated use they'd hardly cut anything anymore. I had my doubts it would work for me or be very easy to use due to my inexperience sharpening and lack of having a clue as to how to do it. I must say, I was quite surprised at how well it worked and how easy it was even for me to use. I became quite impressed with this nifty little gadget quite quickly after trying it out on a few different things:Upon receiving this item I read the directions and immediately tried the sharpener out on that favored pair of shears. After only a minute or two of trying the sharpener I had the scissors cutting again like they hadn't in years. Not to mention it was so easy to sharpen them even I was able to do it after quickly reading through the directions once too. I was so impressed I next decided to try it out on a cheap pair of dollar store scissors that would only cut paper and not particularly well at that. Again, to my surprise, in a minute or two of sharpening I had them cutting fabric when they were never able to before.I then shared my experience with my boyfriend and mentioned I was going to find a knife to try it out on and he completely astounded me and volunteered his beloved pocket knife that he usually doesn't let anyone hardly touch but himself for me to try my new sharpener out on. For some background information, you should know my boyfriend is an old hand at sharpening and sharpens his pocket knife on a regular basis with a sharpening stone and all that as he likes to keep it razor sharp at all times. At the time, he just happened to have gotten busy and was uncharacteristically behind in sharpening his beloved knife as he usually did. Before he could change his mind I jumped at the chance to try to sharpen his knife, and to a level even he was satisfied with at that Before I commenced with sharpening my boyfriend's knife, both he and I felt it to judge its current level of sharpness. After that I proceeded to try my hand at sharpening his knife, and once again, after only a minute or two, I had it where at least I thought it felt quite sharp again. I then handed my boyfriend back his knife so he could make the true, and final verdict as to how well the sharpener worked. And the knife even passed my boyfriend's experienced muster, as he was actualkt quite surprised and impressed with the level of sharpness even inexperienced me managed to get his beloved knife to with this sharpener.Given the fact even novice old me was able to understand the directions then adequately use this sharpener, and quickly, to actually sharpen different things with it, I highly recommend this sharpener to anyone!UPDATE! After all this time this sharpener still works fantastically on everything I sharpen with it. My boyfriend has even taken to using my sharpener to sharpen his beloved pocket knife with half the time instead of his sharpening stone,

Works fine but will damage knives in the long run.
I bought these to use on my cheap knives, it's a great little sharpener. Just be aware the way it sharpens your knife will damage them and make it harder to fix them with proper sharpening. Only use this kind of sharpener on knives you view as disposable in the long run. Aside from that PSA it's cheap, easy to use, small, light, and fast. Though the suction cup doent work super well...

Useful Quality Tool
This is the 2nd Kitchen Chef Sharpening Tool I purchased; my first one still works, but shows some wear after 2 years of daily use, and I wanted a fresh one. I'll be donating the old one. I leave this out, stuck to the counter near my knife block, and use it almost every time I pull a knife for slicing. Try slicing a tomato, then run it through this tool a few times and slice again. You will notice it makes a big difference.I don't have fancy expensive knives, I'm just a home cook who enjoys cooking, baking and canning using ordinary recipes. If you are a professional with expensive knives, you probably have a sharpening stone and know how to use it. For the rest of us, I would highly recommend. The old one is on the right in the first photo, with the suction off and in the 3rd photo.
