No more dying plants! Carefree system.
A nice gloss soft red. The inner red ring of the planter is red as well, and functions as a handle to lift the inner black bucket out from the red outside. The planter is easy to assemble. I do recommend to order a separate bucket of Lechuza Gritty Mix. There is a little bit in the package. But only sufficient to cover the bottom of the planter. The self-watering system means you need to give plants some time to grow roots into the water reservoir. This can take up to 6 to 8 weeks. Once you've managed, you won't have to worry about your plant anymore, and they will stay alive!!My process is as follows. After receiving the planter, I go and look for the plants I want in the planter. Having received the planter, I now can assess the space available for the plants to go in them. Visit the garden center for what you like.I have ordered additional gritty mix for the planter. What does this mean? The planter is provided with a gritty mix of ceramic pellets/stones making a drained bottom. I like to have the plants covered in the gritty mix, so I have ordered additional mix. This will cover the plants completely and makes a nice presentation.Once you have made your choice of plants, bring them home and remove the plastic pot. I try to remove as much soil as I can to remain with almost roots only.I pour the gritty mix into the bottom of the planter to create a 2/3 cm-1inch layer of drainage. At this point, you might want to ask someone to help you. Trying to hold your plant in the airy void in the planter, while adding gritty mix isn't a two-hand job. With some help, you will manage to cover the roots with gritty mix and have your plant nicely settled in the new substrate. At his point, you will put the inner pot back into the outer and will water the plant for the first time. This will be from above. So as you are used to water plants. You will have to do this for about 6-8 weeks. This will allow the roots to find their way to the water reservoir. After the initial watering period of 6-8 weeks, you'll only water the plants by refilling the water reservoir in the bottom of the planter. You can do this through a dedicated watering access to the side of the inner planter. There is a reservoir level indicator showing the level. That will give you an indication of the water level, making it possible to fill it to the max for approx 6 weeks of carefree growing.A bit of effort and dedication for 6-8 weeks, will leave you with plants staying alive and thriving.Recommended!

Brilliant pot - takes the luck out of keeping my plant alive!
I inherited a sick Peace Lily which I have nurtured into a huge, robust plant - but as soon as it is even a little bit thirsty it droops and threatens to die. This pot is brilliant - keep the water line topped up between min & max and you have a happy plant all the time. Only need to check it once a week. The outside pot is big in relation to the amount of planting space you get, so you need a suitable spot for it .... and I am dreading needing to repot as they are expensive and the next size up will require a mortgage!

lovely vase/ planter
Really lovely vase/planter. Instructions were easy to follow. Just waiting for those 3months to pass before you can start using properly. Hand watering to begin with then you can fill up the dispenser after 3mnths.I chose the black one, great quality, and most of all my plant is doing well in it.

I have a few of these Lechuza self-watering planters now and i only have good things to say
Quality does stand out (sometimes) and I have to be honest these are not cheap...actually they can be (when not on offer) too expensive but they are top-quality planters and look great. As soon as you see the packing and contents it just feels premium, and in my opinion, if you buy cheap you buy twice :)Great planters, solid plastic construction, and dead easy to keep your plants watered!

Nice but expensive
For what it is and the size... Very pricey. Does look great, easy to put together and use, sturdy material and so far preforming as it should.

Huge planter, beautiful looking, easy to install, just 1 flaw
I had a Lechuza before - the tall, cuboidal one. My plant outgrew that so needed a larger one. This circular one is big, nicely made and looks smart. Once the plant and soil are in, it gets too heavy, so a wheeled tool is needed to move it around.Just one flaw - The opening next to the water-level indicator, is too wide. The stangnated water in the tank then attracts bugs through this wide opening. Lechuza should've provided a cap for this opening, or made it small.

The BEST of the BEST!!!
Lechuza self watering pot are the best product out there and the only product that I trust for self watering pot, and the result see the pic.I've tried few products that I bought through Amazon, and I can truly say nothing beat Lecuza's products. The other product I've tried, their measurement is not fully correct.Simply test the product by putting the tray, put something heavy on the tray so it stays down. Then fill the water until it goes to the red line and often you'll see that the water in the pot and the water instrument dosent aline with each other. Which means with the other pot the water seeps over the tray and leave the soil to wet for a period of them.this has happened twice with me and when it happened i realised to late and often leads to the plants loosing their leaves.o didn't have a choice of repotting the plant. My friends say I have a green thumbs but in fact it's all thanks to lecauza.i have several of their products in varied product, size and cost.My plants loves and theive, and grow big and larger than what I expect. so far i haven't kill the plants I've potted in Lechuza self watering pot. It's easy to assemble the instruction is on the product and takes less than 5 min. Its as easy as the assembled video on this page.

Amazing but expensive
I've tried a lot of self watering planters, and Lechuza is definitely the best!Incredibly well made, easy to use, plenty of variety, and amazing designs and color options. Great for large plants (I have an elephant ear in mine), and works great both indoor and outdoor.Only issue is the high price. Lots of other quality options available from other brands, but none quite as good as Lechuza. Highly recommend if it fits your price range, but if not you can find lots of similar alternatives for cheaper.
