I was hesitant at first, knowing that I was going to do this operation myself, however in the end, it all worked out well and I am happy to say that this was a purchase and repair I should have done a long time ago. If you're worried about it not working, worry no more.

The charge port worked great for a few days, but would slow charge with some cables.A few days later the phone stopped charging correctly with any cables and died over night. Now it can't be turned on. Plugging in any cable/charger combination only gets it up to a 1% charge after 15 minutes, but then the phone tries to automatically turn on which causes it to die before it can finish booting starting the cycle over again.

The product works as it was meant to. The tools came in handy as well.Update:The part failed after one day. Had to check if anything else was wrong with the phone, so I installed the old part back and wiggled it like before to see if the phone would charge and sure enough it was charging.
