Lightweight and Breathable
Just as most Giro products, this thing is top notch. The adjustable visor was a strong selling point for me and it performs flawlessly. When the sun isn't ahead of you, simply make a quick adjustment and slide it upward and out of the way. I really like how this helmet doesn't feel like it sits on your head, but it feels more like your head is in the helmet... does that even make sense? There is a ton of ventilation to keep cool and it weighs so little that it is quite easy to forget its even there. The rear head protection was the other big selling point for me.. as I get all the protection I need to save my melon if I take a spill at high speeds on the side of a mountain. As far as I'm concerned this is the best thing you can get next to a full face helmet. Just keep in mind that if you are doing some hardcore freestyle or something along those lines you will never have complete protection unless you wear a full face... but this is the next best thing!UPDATE: 6/3/2012 After a solid month this helmet has served me well. I proudly say that this morning this helmet saved my life and prevented my melon from being smashed to oblivion by a tree. I suppose I must get a new one, as I make the assumption that once a helmet has been beat up or dented in it has lost its structural integrity.

Great helmet, 1 big flaw.
As an AM rider I wanted more head protection than the typical target road style bell helmets offer. This one comes down much farther at the base of the head and is very comfortable. The adjustable sun visor is nice as well. The chin strap attachment is the only negative, I have to adjust weekly because the rubber strap retainer constantly slides off which lets the strap pull out a bit, which makes me worry that in a hard enough hit the strap would simply pull off leaving me with no helmet on at all?!

but Jesus Christ this has to be one of the stupidest looking helmets I've tried yet
I have a big head so I all ready look kinda goofy, but Jesus Christ this has to be one of the stupidest looking helmets I've tried yet. I haven't been able to give it away. I notice that when I have this on, small yellow busses slow down and ask me if I want a ride? Wtf..

it did a great job. The hit felt soft
I only got to wear this for a few rides before I killed it on an impact (wood berm on concrete hitting concrete). The helmet was much cooler than I expected compared to my old S-works with tons of vents. The main drawback for me is that with my thinning hair and to prevent helmet funk I wear a head sock/beanie (head sweats or sugoi sun blocking beanie) and with the slightly thicker headsweats this helmet felt tight. As far as the impact, it did a great job. The hit felt soft. The helmet stayed together with the damage mainly being deep scratches on the cover, and what feels like a soft-spot in the area. I give it 5 stars for the performance, cooling, look. I won't ding it for fit but that is part of the review. I wear 7 3/4 to 7 7/8 hat size with a slightly oval head shape.

the best helmet for me
This is the best helmet I ever had for my type of riding (which is mostly going down, but I have to earn these descents). The fitting of this helmet is so good that it feels like it was molded on my head. I also think that this is a great looking helmet - it not like most other bike helmet that look like a mushroom - it has a low profile and curdle most of the head, given you a great protection. Also this seems like a true mountain bike helmet and not like something adopted from road biking. Having said that, I have to point its few limitations - it is poorly ventilated, its one of those helmet that you must try before you buy as the retention system is doing very little (it fits just like a full face helmet - its either sits good on your head or it not, there is no in-between for this one). Also it does feel cheaper than my previous helmet (the Xen) with must less padding and the straps feel very thin (it is however lighter helmet than the Xen). Another plus for this one is the excellent adjustable visor it has - better than the Xen's and better than not having any (which is what most other helmet having)So if you are looking for well ventilated helmet, or you don't have the right head shape - don't buy it, otherwise, this is the best helmet out there!

Great for MTB but gets a little hot
I really like this helmet. With full back coverage and an adjustable visor, it was just what I was looking for. I don't like traditional helmets as I always feel like they're sitting on top of my head instead of going around it and protecting it. This helmet is very light and overall very comfortable. And personally, I think it looks a lot better than a traditional helmet.Only drawback I can think of is that it does tend to get a little hot. While MTB'ing I'm usually in the shade under lots of trees and I'm going fast so there is some good air movement and I stay fairly cool. But if I'm in the sun much longer than 5 minutes or its an especially humid day it starts to get really hot, really fast. It probably doesn't help that mine is black. Though the front forehead pad does do a pretty good job of keeping the sweat out of my eyes, so that's good. More ventilation would be great but it might have come at the cost of protection. And that's one thing I'm not worried about when I ride with this thing on my head. I feel fully protected. If that means I have to wipe sweat off of my forehead once every 30 minutes, then that's alright with me.

Great helmet overall!
Woohoo! I finally found a helmet that fits and with a color that I like. I got this in a small and with the adjustable straps and the adjustable knob in the back, it fits perfectly. The visor is also adjustable and removable. I do wish there was just a little more cushion in the helmet, but it's not uncomfortable. Light weight. A little pricey for the lack of cushioning, but it's ok. Wouldn't hurt to add a little more ventilation holes.

... big and ended up getting a medium which fits great. Very lightweight and comfortable to wear
I purchased a large which was too big and ended up getting a medium which fits great. Very lightweight and comfortable to wear. During my first ride with this helmet I noticed it had very good airflow however, the helmet pads are lined vertically. The problem with this is when you slow down on a hot day sweat drips down your forehead since there is no horizontal pad at the front of the helmet. Looking into purchasing a headband to wear with this helmet because of this.Hit a few low hanging branches on the tral with no physical damage to the helent just a couple smalls scuffs.
