Eventually, it wears off and needs to be replaced, about every 3-5 months. While it is on the denture, it is as if it becomes part of the denture. In fact to remove it (for replacement purposes) you have to soak it in extremely hot water and peal it off. Hope I've answered your question. **Q: Does it set up hard and smooth or soft and rubbery? They may be a little soft at first but in less than 12 hours they are relatively hard. The directions say, to soak your dentures in baking soda for 20 mins afterwards, to take any unwanted aftertaste away. But, I don’t feel the need to do this, as there is very little aftertaste. When I reline my denture with this, they are so comfortable!
