Better than a $109 Mechanical Keyboard
This Cherry brand keyboard is great. Please keep in mind that these product reviews are just a user's opinion. Your mileage may vary! Background: I purchased a (DKON1808-_USPDZHBS) Ducky One 2 Skyline Double Shot PBT Mechanical Keyboard - Switches: Cherry MX Silent Black - $117.77 with tax. I kept it less than a week before returning it as defective. The backspace key was not silent. It was the noisiest key on the darn thing. As one would expect, there was no trouble found on the keyboard. You see, I am a terrible typist. The most used key on any keyboard that I use is backspace. It is embarrassing when others can hear ONLY that key. I have probably written and backspaced two novels in my lifetime.WhisperKey is more than branding. It is actually how this keyboard works. All keys, including backspace are quiet. I like both the look and feel of this keyboard. The USB cable is plenty long enough for nice routing from the computer to the chosen desk location. Here is something that I don't like. The LEDs for the Num Lock, Caps Lock, and Scroll Lock are centered on the keyboard. That makes the bright blue LEDs directly in the line of site and distracting. Cherry should move 'em to the right to be less of a distraction PITA. Above the number key pad seems to be the normal location. It's certainly the better location.I think you will be surprised at the quality and workmanship in this budget level keyboard. I know I was. My expectations were low after spending almost 10 TIMES this much for a POS. I am happy with this one. It's now my backspace go to.

So good I bought a second for work!
I was looking for a keyboard at home with the flat type keys without all the bells and whistles. Just give me a nice keyboard for daily use. Well I was so happy with this keyboard that I purchased a second for work. I love the feel, the flat keys and it's not a loud as some have mentioned (IMHO). If you are looking for a nice wired keyboard for your daily use but has a great feel and makes typing smooth then this is the one for you (or two if you are me heh).

It's a little squishy, but that's part of what makes it quiet
I generally prefer a clicky keyboard with definite tactile feedback on keypresses. However, that kind of keyboard is very loud, and my wife is about ready to break my fingers when I really get cruising on a writing project. We both work from home, and because we are temporarily living in a 500 sf house, we are sitting about five feet away from each other with a cloth divider between our desks. She hears every keypress! So, that's where this keyboard came in. It is unquestionably the quietest I've ever owned. It is surprisingly tactile given the short keystroke and soft touch, but I suspect that's because it's a Cherry and the components are better than most cheapo keyboards. I didn't have any trouble transitioning to it from my spendy DAS keyboard. I'm quite happy with it so far, partly because it was so inexpensive. Best of all, my wife no longer has to wear earplugs plus noise-cancelling headphones!

Not "whisper" at all
This is not silent. It is not quiet. It is not a chiclet keyboard, which I assumed because it said it was whisper quiet. It clicks like anything, however, and in fact has a treble/high click sound in it that I'd say is even more noticeable than my old keyboard. My job is to take notes in meetings and this still distracts. On the positives, it is responsive, has a light touch and you can type super fast with it, which I appreciate. Perfectly great keyboard and great price. I will keep looking for a silent one. Not worth returning for this nicely low price. Try, try again....

quiet and good for people with smaller hands
I can't stand raised key keyboards because I have small fingers. This is the perfect keyboard for me. It has a satisfying click, but the click is very muted and overall the keyboard is incredibly quiet. I type a bit aggressively and normally my own typing drives me crazy, but not on this keyboard. I wouldn't say that this keyboard is gray however. I think it is more of an off white color, but it hasn't stained or faded in any way.I also love that this keyboard has cute function keys for email and calculator. For as inexpensive as it is, this is a really great option for a home office!

Decent keyboard... but
The keys have a nice grippy texture and they are very springy. It's very comfortable to type on and is pretty quiet. There are some quirks, however. I like the built in sleep function, but it sometimes immediately wakes up my computer after using it. Whenever I do resume using my computer after it's been in sleep mode, no matter how long I wait, the first keystroke never registers (which messes up logging in with my password). The status lights are quite distracting being in the center of your view rather than off to the side, and in a very bright blue instead of green which would be easier on the eyes. It was also hard to tell from the pictures but I had hoped that the bottom edge of the keyboard would be tall enough to form a palm rest but that is not the case. I was going to go with a more widely known brand of keyboard, but I just couldn't justify the prices they're going for these days. It's not perfect, but for the money it's hard to beat.

Performs Flawlessly
I've been using it over a year. Bought if for the sleep key which is a rare feature on keyboards, but one I find essential.
