We wanted a quality product and were referred by an electrician to the TECH line. TECH is a US based company, with many choices for the track fixtures and track design - a favorite with interior decorators. All metal and glass, the base TECH product was way out of our price range (nearly 2K).The good news is TECH also manufactures a second line, Tiella, that is more affordable. The limitations of the second line are that the choices are very limited (but in general, the more popular styles), the pieces are not interchangeable with the TECH line if ever you upgrade to the more premier product and, at least in the style we chose, were unavailable in an LED bulb, only in the low voltage halogen (which makes sense, LED bulbs are pricey).The reviews for most track light products available at big box home improvement stores listed as a primary complaint that the inexpensive price was not worth the bargain because pricey transformers constantly needed replacement. Tiella did not have negative reviews (except for the lack of compatibility with the TECH product and difficulty in installation).We are very happy with this product, would definitely recommend an electrician install, replacement bulbs are readily available at your big box store. It looks very clean, is solid construction and a definite value at a significant savings from the designer line.

The light stopped working less than 6 months after installation!

Installed fine, lights turned on and my wife thinks it looks really nice ("fancy and updated" she said). It's not either however, it's cheaply built and parts were missing (snap ring to hold a lamp in the housing, misc screws, a mount too), I just declined to point them out to my wife. I'm sure I could call or email and get the parts, but that's a PITA and just not worth it to me. I made due with spare parts in the garage. One of the mounts was there, but not machined at all - so quality control is zero for this brand (any check of any kind would have noticed it at the factory).If you're willing to toss the dice and take a chance that the item that shows up, is complete and install-able... it does look much nicer then it is.I wouldn't buy it again, but it's nice enough to leave up - now that it's there.

They are great lights. Easy to install and looks nice and modern. Works well in a number of settings. I've used this fixture in several situations and I'm always pleased with it.

Nice light fixtures but... I purchased 6 of these units for commercial use and although they are very nice looking fixtures, I just don't understand the $200.00 plus price tag and forget about purchasing additional light heads to match, the price is even worse. Accessories like additional connectors are also overpriced. Very modern looking, very easy to install and the fact they come with bulbs is a plus however it may be about time for the manufacturer to include LED bulbs in place of the 20 watt bulbs that come with it.

New lights look great, we had one light that we could not get a bulb into due to manufacturer defect but the company was great about sending out another kit, promptly.

We bought two of these kits for kitchen work area lighting. The quality of the most of the components is good, and we liked the clean look. After four months, the lights are still working. The reason for the low rating is the extremely poor quality of the joiners between rail sections. The joiners consist of a low quality plastic body with two set screws which contact a metal insert to provide continuous contact from rail to rail. After only four months, we have already replaced two of the joiners because they cracked around the set screw mounts, and the entire joiner shattered and came apart. The instructions stress making sure the set screws are tight, but you really do not want them all that tight, because of the poor grade of plastic used. The extra stress causes the plastic around the set screw mounts to fail and basically the joiner crumbles into plastic pieces. The only good news is that you can buy extra joiners, but at $10 a piece (edit: that was circa 2015!). I ended up buying three. A lot of money for a piece of junk, but what else can you do. I hate to throw out $400 worth of lighting.An update, 2019: Finally had it with our two lighting kits. Sure its four years later, but also 2 transformers, four joiner changes, and one fussy light socket later, we scrapped both kits, after the second transformer went out. I also found I going to have to replace my fifth joiner. The rail joiners are now $20-#30 a piece, if you can even find them. The joiners will certainly last longer if you never intend to clean the tracks or lights. Even mild stress destroys the rail joiners.

I've purchased and installed hundreds of lighting fixtures and I have to say that first, the quality of this fixture is one of the best flex lighting fixtures that I have purchased. Packaged well, and containing all needed parts. They even throw in a small bag of "spare" parts that contains extra tiny screws, should you drop one or two during installation, never to be found. Secondly, installation was a breeze - standard wiring, clear instructions and solid installation parts. Overall well worth the price compared to fixtures offered at popular big box stores.
