ACCEL140003 Supercoil Ignition Coil - Red/Yellow Primary Wire

Every brand has their good stuff and their cheap stuff. Some of these aftermarket companies version of proven components are better than others. This is the best HEI set up. Accel distributor and Accel coil always work for me. Easily adjusted and I’ve had real good luck with these over the years. Simple. Reliable. I’ve used this same setup so many times. Vortec 350. Edelbrock performer intake. Holley 750 dual feed 4160. Accel HEI. And adding a MSD box is easy.

Decal on top was lifter when I took it put of the box, don't expect it will take long to completely fall off.

Contacks very thin donot feet . Hard to instol whayer not fit in complecsted instolytion

I wanted to give it a new look to the cap for a car show that was coming out when I purchase this coil by, when it showed up to my door it was broken I was going to do a return but it was going to take longer to get a new one so I just glue it and go on with the show

Accel does it again. Put this on a DUI distributer that was only six months old. It was a major improvement and a way better design.

This is supposed to be for a GM 87 Monte Carlo SS But it only has the red and the white wire I need a third which is the ground (black) the black wire could not be connected. It's way up under the coil and I cant get it out. What sucks is I waited too long to finish my rebuild.. When I noticed it was the wrong one ###..!!! Now I'm stuck with something I cant return or use. Don't Trust always look the one I needed was the 140013 not the 140003 its' for GM but not mine. The connection for the ground is on the wrong side and the ground connection does not face the correct way. Ignition connection should ground in the center..

Upgraded from a standard AC Delco HEI coil and this works really well. Lots of spark and no missing under load. The only complaint could be that adjusting the wires after this is installed is a bit of a pain, but that's minor. Comes with everything you need.

I'm maybe a bit biased because I've owned one of these many years ago and loved it. Both applications that I've used the ACCEL Super Coil on ('79 corvette L82 350ci and an '82 Malibu 267ci) have given a definite, noticeable difference in the starting, idle, off-idle and high RPM performance. I highly recommend this product if you're looking to give your HEI system a moderate boost in drive-ability. Paired with a high energy ACCEL module (preferably the MSD Heat HEI module) you will have a solid ignition system. Thank you ACCEL and Amazon!

Opened it up and installed it . After a couple days I noticed a crack on external housing . I hope this does not affect the actual coil . Might be a good idea for shipper to pack this better
